Is this a FE for all DISers onboard, or just those with PCC 3.0? This could get expensive!

This will be for everyone on this Cruise, but not necessarily part of the PCC portion.

Im sure if it gets really large DVC Family Can split it up so we are not buying for everyone and spread it around.

Okay, I guess I need more info? What's a fish extender? We're on 3.0 and we like to participate in stuff so I want to know what this FE thing is all about.:thumbsup2

Ya, I figured you would need more. :-)

FE are used to Extend the Fish on your stateroom door.

Here is a blog bost I found on google that should clear things up a bit.

Here

I like the whole idea of the FE. Now who is it I'm supposed to sign up with. My mother in law and I are already starting to plan. FUN!!!
:cool1::banana::goodvibes:yay::cheer2:

Let me try to answer some of the FE questions, it is open to ALL Disp'ers on the cruise who read these boards. Sign up information ca be found here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2593251

I have only been involved in one FE exchange, but I do know that at some point, those involved decided to limit the amount of people in the group (I want to think they limited it to 35 people, but I have slept since that time :))

You can send a private message to: DVC Family to get put on the list. You do not have to say you are part of the podcast, that does not matter at all.

Since some of the DIS family already had a cruise prebooked, they were not able to take advantage of the Podcast portion, or they would have lost some of the benefits they already had to change their resevation.

Also, some were not able to get into the podcast portion since it was sold out, but have decided to go ahead and cruise this week anyway.,

We do not want to have anyone feel left out, so it is open to anyone who reads the cruise meet forum.

Hopefully that should answer some of your questions.

Awesome!

For those of you who have cruised with Disney before - do you have any suggestions for what to pack, how much, etc??? Even tho there are still 42 WEEKS to go, I'd like to start planning.....

Thanks for any/all advice about anything having to do with cruising!!!

The newest Passporter Cruise Book (includes info about the Dream) is just now being released. Haven't rec'd it, so I can't say yet what I think of it. Judging from their other books I've purchased tho, I'm confident it will be chock full of info.

This is our first cruise as well, and I got absolutely NO info from Dream's Unlimited, so I'm looking wherever I can to make the most of this once in a lifetime trip. It will be my husband and I, our 3 grown children, 1 son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren. It is also our very first ever vacation together as an extended family and I can't wait!

Looking forward to meeting everyone here!!!!:dance3:

I don't' know if this is good, but I tend to try and let vacations just happen. I like some spontaneous fun. For example I have gotten tired of over planning our trips to WDW. This last trip I made two ADRs for the 10 days we were there.

I'm looking forward to the whole experience since we've never done a cruise.

You have a valid point, lugnut.

But, I'm paying over $10,000 for 3 cabins (for 8 of us) - and I want to make sure I know what's involved - especially since none of us have ever cruised before...

I really don't want to over-plan, BUT I feel I should be an informed consumer. For example:
What are the shore excursions offered - and how do those who have taken them feel about the experience? I don't want to pay alot of extra money for something that most others feel is a bust - such as the glass bottom tour. Would have probably thought of signing up for it if almost all the previous "tour-ee's" hadn't panned it, according to Passporter...
Don't know a thing about Nassau. Would have thought it was a lovely place to visit -- have since learned that it's quite the tourist trap - especially close to port...
Wouldn't have known best times for the kids to try for the Aqua Duck, nor the advantage to early dinner with young children, optimal time to be at terminal for embarkation, etc etc without researching - mainly because despite the amount of money being spent, DU has NOT offered any guidance...
Just want some guidance. I'm not kidding when I say I know nothing about cruising, other than that it should be a great time. I have done alot of research on my own. I would really have appreciated some type of notice or brochure as to what to expect as far as packing & what type of clothes to wear/bring, how much luggage each person is allowed, how much liquor is allowed to be carried on per adult, expected amounts for tipping, who to tip, etc. I totally understand that sending out a brochure might be cost prohibitive - especially when many people have only made a deposit and might have to cancel. However, an email list would have been wonderful!
It's going to take me the full year (probably longer) to pay this amount, & I need help calculating how much the total - including all the incidentals - will be.
I can appreciate your point of view, but I need more info.... I don't even know how to get to the terminal. I'm sure some of this info will be forthcoming (ie the terminal, etc.) but the money issues are important now.

I look forward to the cruise - and to meeting you. Maybe we'll have a laugh over our "newbie-ness"!

Gretchen- The Passporter book is GREAT! I've been reading a bit each week! We are also NEWBIES at cruising. This will be our first. We are looking forward to knowing more too as soon as more things are planned by the team.

Did you order the DCL DVD? Pretty good as well! I've also checked out the menus on the site as well

I think you will find the Passporter very helpful! It has already helped us to start planning ahead things like getting to the port. There is a suggested packing list as well that I'm starting to get into.

Good luck with your planning!

And good luck with yours as well, tigger813!

This is all so exciting.

And thanks for all the details.... Love the Passporter! Will have to get the DVD out again - will probably notice alot more things this time around. Got it last winter!

Can't wait till we're on the Dream together!:yay:

Oh, I agree with being informed, and picking some of the things you want to do on the cruise beforehand.

I was just referring to my overplanning on some previous WDW trips. I'd have the whole day planned out and would worry about getting to our ADRs on time etc. Now we just kinda go with the flow. Much more relaxing.

Our families can share some chocholate milk together.

Do you have any teenagers coming? My girls will be 15 & 12.

Hey Lugnut,

My oldest daughter will be 12 at the time of the cruise and her bff will also be there and she is 12. Know of a few other kids within that age as well!

Looking forward to meeting you!!!!

I think there will also be a little book from Disney as you get closer to the cruise - but still well enough out to allow for planning. We are still just under 10 months out.
