y'all are not big breakfasters?! but breakfast is such a good opportunity for yummy foods! especially whilst on holidays when there's time to sit down to a big brekky.

personally i'm really looking forward to having big breakfasts on Disney days. i need the energy! :Pinkbounc

I will most certainly join you for breakfast!
I am not a coffee drinker, but I do like to try yummy foods.

What is "wall walking thing"? :confused3

Are you at home?

Have a couple glasses of wine.

Get up and go to the hallway. Put one hand on the wall and walk to the end. Kinda keeps you in the middle and upright, right?;)

I'll try and take pics of examples at DATW at DAP.

That shouldn't be a stretch.:rotfl:

Okay, I thought it was something like that!
Can you do it blindfolded? :cool1:

Yeah I've experienced Denny's and if Big Boy is worse I will definitely avoid it :thumbsup2
We have places here like that, the food is cheap but there is a reason why - low quality produce and I even had a re-heated microwave dinner (when it came out it was plonked on the plate and was in the shape of the tray it had been kept in - definately not made fresh and not even made to look appealing :scared:) I'd rather spend a little more and know I'm eating a freshly prepared meal made with happy chickens/pigs etc. ;)

I totally agree!! I am glad Disney does it right.....well, most of the time! :thumbsup2

Big Boy is comparable to Shoney's.
I never ate at Shoney's before, I now know to avoid it!

:goodvibes Wow, when we're back we'll actually be in the same year as the PCC 2.0 :lmao:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year friends :disrocks:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!
I can't believe it is almost the same year as the cruise! YIPPEE!

I always liked Big Boy. I think because it was a treat while traveling away from home.
I liked Big Boy when I was little too, maybe they changed! :confused3

Its not my favorite place. I think I've only gotten the spaghetti there. And that's because I was/am a picky eater. It is nothing special, not even worth going out of the way for, but sometimes you have a craving.

However, on the weekends, they have a breakfast buffet. I can get some grits, biscuits and gravy, waffles, pancakes, potato casserole, fruit, eggs, and BREAD PUDDING (plus some other stuff too.) That I enjoy going there for.

Maybe I just got the wrong thing...I got the Big Boy Burger and it tasted like a very badly made Big Mac....Meat completely burnt with no juices left, stale bun, shredded lettuce and non-tasty thousand island dressing.

It needed cheese, onions, pickles, and sesame seeds to compete with the Big Mac! And a lower price tag too!

The only pic I have is this one french toast with pineapple from Tritons

Ok, I am not a breakfast person either...but this is going to make me skip the 2am room service call and wake up for breakfast! Is there a drooling smilie?

2 AM room service?!
I hope I migt be asleep by then!

Yep! Here are some excerpts from my TR!

We had a dilemma when we got back to the room......we do not like breakfast and we are not morning people. So, do we order room service now (it is around 1:30 am) and then wake up at the last possible second to take a shower and dress for the Disney Institute presentation at 8:00 am, or do we just go to bed and wake up early and eat breakfast.

Ok, so we decide to order room service...I order the Chicken wrap and the fruit plate, and Jason orders the Hot Dog and Fries and of course we have to get Mickey Bars! I was hungry so, you get our empty dishes and empty Mickey Bars......is this as bad as Bob's empty Dole Whip Containers?
100_3373.jpg

(oh well, Jason has a Mickey Bar in the picture, but it has a bite taken out of it! :P.)

Nighty Night! It is now 2:00 am, and the presentation starts at 8:00 am.
At least our room is pitch dark, we didn't leave a single light on...in fact Jason put a towel under the door so not a spec of light will enter our room! Wow! I think this was the darkest place I have ever been! I had my eyes completely open but I could not see a single thing. That was pretty neat!!! Another perk of an inside cabin.

Here is another one!

2:00 AM
We came back to our room and were greeted by:
100_3449.jpg

We order room service again since we have to wake up at 8:30 for the live podcast taping! Yum....more Mickey Bars for delivery!!

Before our room service came....I walked up to the 24 hour beverage station and saw how bright the moon was, the wind was really whipping this night too! I came back to the room to tell Jason that we should try to dance tonight.
(See before the cruise, I had a thought of us slow dancing in a quiet corner of the ship to some songs on our IPod Touch)
So...after we were done eating our room service we went out to Deck 5 to slow dance in the moonlight. It was very romantic! I think it was around 3:30 by then!
See windy I tell ya!

Good night!

I live for American breakfasts :cloud9: :worship: Love Love Love them :goodvibes
On PCC 2.0 I want to try the Beach Blanket Buffet - I've heard they have chocolate Mickey waffles

I don't think I have ever seen French toast look like that! Yum!

It was interesting, I'm not a big fan of pineapple but I ate a bit. There was nothing else I fancied that morning I think I was in a fussy mood :confused3

Do you do Palo brunch every morning?

My problem is that I am not going to want to miss anything - thus I will want to be late night with the people who are awake. Then I won't want to miss a meal or morning activities, so I have to wake up early enough. I hope there is some "down time" for naps!

What is "wall walking thing"? :confused3

Yeah I'd plan for no sleep for 4 days and you'll get to see/do everything :lmao: There is some down time - I thought the official activities were nicely spread out and it gave you time to do 'normal' cruise things too. It may help if you decide your priorities beforehand then if you can't do everything at least you'll do the most important things.

2 AM room service?!
I hope I migt be asleep by then!

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: I don't think they had much sleep - maybe the bus ride on the way back to WDW :confused3 :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

Wow! At least it sounds like it was very enjoyable! How were the cookies and pumpkin bread?

It was horrible, and I thought Denny's was bad! It is a restaurant, but luckily they are not in Florida!
http://www.bigboy.com/

The treats that Anne sent with us were wonderful and carried us all the way to Florida!
The first thing Johnny said when we got over the boarder was dad we have to eat at Denny's, it's an American institution!
I asked him where he learned that!
He said that's what they said in the movie Santa Claus 1 !
John and I had a really good giggle over this!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Morning!!!

This was on the Facebook feed from downtown this morning. The irony made me smile.

Hi Todd - excited yet? ;)

So is this guy different to the one with the doughnut? I've seen him on the Simpsons.

Yeah, looking back on our trip....I really don't know when we slept, maybe when we got home! ;)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: The burger looks much better in statue form ;). BTW...that looks like Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights behind the Big Boy!

Not sure if he is in the Simpsons, but he is in Austin Powers:thumbsup2 Dr. Evil uses a Big Boy spaceship.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are off to see Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth in the Adams Family the musical tomorrow. It is our last show for this season :(. Also, going to see Navy Pier's Winter Wonderland. We are finally putting our Christmas decorations up too! :woohoo:

I am considering getting myself a Wii. Some people think I won't take the time to use it.

My guy said if you took a poll and asked people who bought one if they still use it, most will admit it is gathering dust.

So, I posted a poll.
If you have a Wii, please add your vote and comments to my poll.
Thanks!

We are enjoying the parks, almost everything is a walk on. :thumbsup2
Except the day we at HS, that was the day they were taping the x-mas parade over at MK, so the crowds were at HS.
We have not eaten at Dennys and don't plan to.
If we do it will be on the way home, and it will not be my choice.:lmao::lmao:

Becx i think we are on the same page ;) We should have a Motherland/colony brekky event on PCC2.0. We'll be bright eyed and busy tailed, eating our big American breakfasts while all the sleepyhead Americans are still in bed :lmao:

I think I'm still recovering from sleep deprivation, all our vacations this year have been busy.

Ah yes I do remember the rocket from Austin Powers :thumbsup2

Have a great time at the theatre - we've got all our decs up, will try and post a picture this week :thumbsup2

Hey honey - enjoying your lunch?

Great to see you can post more easily

I cannot wait until we get to spend the new year with Yvet and Emiel

Downtown puts them up every year. They've been doing it since 2005 or so I think. Makes driving through Downtown NUTZO from Lagniappe (Nov. 30) to Jan. 3rd or 4th. But it is lovely to see. They don't flash or anything, but man are they bright. The light pollution floods up from the valley (where Downtown is) and looks like the Aurora Borealis.
