Funny thing...my house is 2 blocks from were I work....my DBF didn't feel a thing...all that happened was my Tink Wind Chime started moving...he didn't know we had an earthquake until I got home.

We went out and got gas for the generator last night, and some food. I put gas in my car this morning. I have a hair appointment for Friday, but I think I'm going to reschedule it for next week. I have a lot of deck furniture to move into the garage..plus the grill...can't move the bar/table so we are going to tie it down to the deck. Also need to go through the yard and pick up any stuff that might catch wind.

I have to back up all the stuff on my work computer today...not sure what the IT Dept plans on doing...when Isabelle came through they covered everything in plastic and we shut down a day ahead...I guess we will find out today if they plan anything at all.

I went to BJ's yesterday just to get some water and people were crazy. I need to go to the store and pick up some snacks for the weekend. I just hope that I am inland enough that I don't lose power. I also have to get gas for the car tonight just in case. I am starting to get worried because this morning they said the winds could be worse than Isabelle. I have only been here 2 years and all I have heard was how bad Isabelle was.

The worst part of Isabelle in your area was the flooding...Franklin was under water for weeks.

I live more near Chesapeake, in Northern Suffolk. I think they still had some flooding from the James River. I just hope that this storm is quick and everyone is ok. I was hoping it would be like Earl, but it isn't looking that way.

Good Morning Everyone !!! The good news of the day is that I'm doing the single digit dance today !!!! We did our on-line check in last night.

Other than that, it's Friday and payday....

Hurricane Irene is going to slap us tomorrow...they say it's going to be another Isabelle..oh joy (insert sarcastic icon here) We're almost ready for her, just have to tie down the grill and bar/table on the deck. I have 1 stop after work to pick up some sale items at the grocery store, and will try to get some flashlights and candles. Other than that, we are set. I do wish I had thought about buying a battery powered TV, but it's too late now....I have 1 but it's the old format..oh well.

I wish good thoughts for all of you on the east coast in her path. Stay safe!!

Thanks....we came through the storm just fine....we had a tree limb break, and now it's hanging from the tree in the front yard. DBF has to figure out how to get it down before we leave on vacation this coming Sunday.....the yard and deck are a mess....we cleaned the leaves out of the pool yesterday...Luckily we didn't loose power, but a lot of people did.

Yeah same deck, but not close...you are up toward the forward and we are all the way in the aft...as far back as you can get..... Not sure how I feel about that yet, but it could be cool I guess...what is good about it is, when we pull into Castaway Cay the ship goes in backwards...so we will be able to sit on the verandah and watch it. Last year, we stood on one of the decks with our coffee and watched.

now someone PLEASE do something aout our heat? 106 today...63 days over 100 this summer...sad thing is that Thursday they say we will break - and we'll end up 4 days short of the record for number of days over 100 set in 1980!
