Morning all! Looking forward to a shorter day at work today - have to take Kara to a dentist appointment. Of course my short day is sandwiched between to long days.

I think the internet has replaced the phone and TV nowadays as being an essential service. One can go without TV or a traditional phone for a while ... but the internet - vital!

Happy Tuesday folks! Lovely weather day in store for me today. And I have to go out and run errands for work. What a shame.

Going to dinner this evening with a group of friends from high school at the place to eat when we were in school. Being older and having experienced more, the food isn't all that great and neither is the service, but it is sentimental.

Good morning everyone! I'm a bit sleepy today. Went to see "Eclipse" for the second time with some friends last night. I'm not used to "going out on a school night" anymore.

I did the math for the convertible and, although it looks like a blast, with gas and parking at the port, it still wasn't going to be enough cheaper than the town car and DIS motorcoach transportation to make it worth it. Alas, no car for us. (We NEVER get a car at WDW-it would be totally different for us.)

It's very gloomy here this morning too. I think we're supposed to get a couple of thunderstorms. I agree with Tracey, it would have been a good day to just sleep in.

Good morning everyone. Thunder is rumbling out there right now- it looks so dark and dreary today. No real rain yet, but it is coming. We do need it badly- so it's a good thing I guess.

I actually felt more like a kid when I had mine. They are a great "cover" for doing all the fun kid stuff. Now that mine are grown, I feel like I don't need a cover any more- I've earned the right to be nutty whenever I want (which is most of the time )

I have heard so much about this wonderful place (and this entree as well). We can't wait until December, so we are finally trying Jiko in August!! Can't wait!

I am pretty sure that children force you to "grow up". I am over fifty, no children, no house. Pretty easy for me to play "Peter Pan"!

Great points!
Sometimes I "borrow a kid" either "as cover" or just to share the experience.
But mostly I do what ever I want, when ever I want, where ever I want.


About being in places that are usually populated by children...

On a podcast, one of the men talked about the odd looks they get going on Dumbo with no kids. I'll bet a woman would not get the same looks.

It can be harder for men than for women.

Partner and I are both libraians. When we visit other libraries, partner never enters the children's or teen areas without me., He doesn't want anyone to suspect him of anything. Really, he is only looking for comic books and graphic novels!

I am dragging a bit today as I had to pick up the MIL at the airport and her flight didn't land until after midnight. After driving her across town home and then getting my family home, it was quite late by the time my head hit the pillow. Caffeine is my friend today.

Just ate lunch and getting ready to go to a meeting, I am not looking forward to. I hate being recruited to serve on Interdepartmental teams - nothing really comes of the work you do and you get behind in the work you should be doing.

I hear you on the meetings. I missed a couple when I was in the hospital the last time, ever since I have 'forgotten' when they are. Honestly the 90 minute meeting has maybe 5 minutes of work content and 85 minutes of sports/politics chatter. I have better things to do than sit around with my coworkers and be a chatter box. Afterall that's what the DIS is for....right?

Yes, I agree her problem is pesky grasshoppers - but to her a Bug is a Bug.

My wonderful 4 day weekend is over. Boo!! Had a great and relaxing weekend, but now I'm paying for it...I close every night this week. I do work a mid-shift on Saturday so at least it's not closing! I woke up for a few minutes when Matthew was getting ready for work this morning and told him that I'd see him on Saturday...hope he has a great week...lol

I hate retail...I just don't want to work at night...I'll admit that it's nice to not wake up to an alarm clock every day, but I would much rather spend time with my husband than avoid an alarm clock.

Been thinking lots about our cruise!
