Okay that is what I thought. Not sure what got me confused to thinking it was a week. I am so happy for you that you get to make this trip! I know you have been wanting to go for a long time.no, just the day before--I leave tomorrow!! I was too excited to sleep last night.
So, I am a moron. Proposed trip is 12/15 - 12/21. Of course, I should have known better than to ask this bunch of beautiful enablers.![]()
I love Christmastime at dW. I have to say I was wondering how the boys were going to miss a day and a half of school if you were only going for two days.
Pet lovers, tell me if this makes sense--we have been having trouble finding boarding for Lily. One place she was hoarse when we picked her up. She couldn't bark for like a week and she acted nervous if we brought our hand toward her head to pet her. That worried me. Then she stayed at a vet in town and seemed to do okay. That was for a week in early June. But when we took her back there in late July, she was frantic when I was leaving and we got a call within 4 hours that she was sick. It was from stress bacteria.
So, we had to leave her again two weeks ago. Took her to a "pet resort". And let me tell you, it was fancy!
The question is, we are going to be gone for almost two weeks in Jan. I am thinkin that maybe we should take her there for a day or two a few times before that. Make sure she is comfortable, help her know we really are coming back etc. What do you think? Good idea or am I being paranoid?
Actually, it would be 12/15- 12/21. They would miss a day and a half of school. We haven't gone during Christmas in awhile. Would you go during that time frame or wait until Spring and take the kids out for a whole 5 days?

I actually think you should do both, but as you already mentioned, we are a bunch of enablers.
I have never taken her to a kennel, as I know that would totally freak her out, but she goes and stays at my BIL's house. We have found that taking her for an overnight "visit" before a trip really helps.

What's a hallmark and why did a butterfly leave it on you???
