PMSers Unite!

no, just the day before--I leave tomorrow!! I was too excited to sleep last night.
Okay that is what I thought. Not sure what got me confused to thinking it was a week. I am so happy for you that you get to make this trip! I know you have been wanting to go for a long time.
So, I am a moron. Proposed trip is 12/15 - 12/21. Of course, I should have known better than to ask this bunch of beautiful enablers. :lmao:

:cheer2: I love Christmastime at dW. I have to say I was wondering how the boys were going to miss a day and a half of school if you were only going for two days.;)

Pet lovers, tell me if this makes sense--we have been having trouble finding boarding for Lily. One place she was hoarse when we picked her up. She couldn't bark for like a week and she acted nervous if we brought our hand toward her head to pet her. That worried me. Then she stayed at a vet in town and seemed to do okay. That was for a week in early June. But when we took her back there in late July, she was frantic when I was leaving and we got a call within 4 hours that she was sick. It was from stress bacteria.

So, we had to leave her again two weeks ago. Took her to a "pet resort". And let me tell you, it was fancy!:thumbsup2. We talked to them about the last situation. She had her own little room with a solid wood door. We were able to bring her crate which she sleeps in, her blanket from home and some of her own toys. When we picked her up, they said she did great and they couldn't believe she had been so worked up the last place since she seemed so happy and relaxed.

The question is, we are going to be gone for almost two weeks in Jan. I am thinkin that maybe we should take her there for a day or two a few times before that. Make sure she is comfortable, help her know we really are coming back etc. What do you think? Good idea or am I being paranoid?

DM3, Since your dog has had issues I think it's a good idea just to be on the safe side. I need to get Dolly used to being boarded (MIL can no longer watch her, and DH doesn't want a pet sitter coming into the house). I figured I am going to try a couple of shorter stays to see how she does.

Okay, new option to the Jan/vacation/marathon dilemma.

I think I have someone that can watch the kiddos while we run the marathon. Now DH is suggesting that we go to WDW during the kids Christmas break. :scared1: Actually, it would be 12/15- 12/21. They would miss a day and a half of school. We haven't gone during Christmas in awhile. Would you go during that time frame or wait until Spring and take the kids out for a whole 5 days?

:thumbsup2

I've been that week and it is not bad at all.

Wait until tonight!! :rotfl:

My answer still remains the same, but if you
do HAVE to choose, I would go with December since you haven't been at that time in a while.

:thumbsup2 Couldn't agree more.

DM3 I think that is a wonderful idea.

This is a dilemma?:confused3
Some people have rough lives.;)

With that said, 1.5 days of school is a lot less than 5. I'd probably do Christmas...if you need to pick ONE. For some odd reason. Like your orthodontist has all your money.:headache:

Tig, Facebook is nice but I do miss your sig picture. You know you can never get rid of it. :rotfl:

Hi guys. A bit behind here.

I have a headache. Just found out a friend of mine is having an affair. She is in the midst of a divorce, he is married AND.....the killer here....they go to the same church and she is friends with his wife. Holy.....unDISfriendly word......And she comes to me for advice. Good grief. She is not going to listen anyway and her life is headed down a disastrous path. Not liking the idea of just standing here watching it happen.

Can't get my brain around much else right now. OH! And she knows he cheated on his previous wife so this is not new territory for him. Once, I get...more than once? Yikes. It's not looking pretty.

I would establish some boundaries with your friend. If you don't want, you don't have to listen to her talk about her affair, marriage, divorce, or anything else related to it. If you don't mind her venting, but don't want to/can't give advice then say so. If you want to be there for her that's fine, but if it's upsetting to you there's nothing wrong with telling her you care about her, but you don't agree with the situation and need to pull back a bit for awhile.

I've been on both sides of this and experienced all kinds of reactions when I was involved with P, but I never expected anyone to agree with what I was doing. I know mine was a different situation (I sure as hell wasn't out looking for a new love and had no clue that I was putting myself in a situation where I'd be tempted to get involved), but still I was doing something that I myself was morally opposed to and therefore couldn't expect other people to endorse it. Nothing wrong with not listening to the gory details, if for no other reason than you know everyone involved and it kind of puts you in the middle of it.

I agree that mucous is a disgusting word!

Teva, I think your DIL is holding out for Labor Day!

DM3, is there anyway you can get someone to stay at your house with Lily when you're gone? Sheena could not be boarded, even with Magic, so we had to go that route when out of town.

I am considering that. DD has a friend who is 18/19 and taking a year off before college to earn money for school. we might have her do it. DH is not totally comfortable with that idea though.

Thanks for your advice above. I think the shock of it yesterday just got to me. I had warned her that she needed to protect her heart against this guy like two weeks ago because there was a bunch of innappropriate texts coming from him. (I read them all including hers and it really was one sided.) But she is lonely and she kept going with the "friendship." It certainly switched over very fast from a bit of flirting to the whole deed. I will NOT be listening to details. Thankfully I don't know the other couple. But they go to a really really small church and that is going to be a disaster. I have to go back to my therapy mantra....not my problem...not my problem....

Of course you should go! I love WDW in Dec.:cloud9: I actually think you should do both, but as you already mentioned, we are a bunch of enablers.:lmao:

I think that is a good idea. Our Jasmine is a rescued shelter dog, and she freaks out at first when we leave, as she is afraid we aren't coming back.:sad1: I have never taken her to a kennel, as I know that would totally freak her out, but she goes and stays at my BIL's house. We have found that taking her for an overnight "visit" before a trip really helps.
No baby news yet, Phors.

Well tell her to hurry it up, your PMSer friends want pictures!!!

Happy Friday, gang!!! Hope you all have a great weekend!:grouphug:

I love al anon meetings....helps me not to take on the problems of others and how to establish healthy boundaries. We have had some "stuff" we've gone through the last year and a half with middle son and al anon has helped me not own what is not mine and realize that he's responsible for himself and will suffer the consequences if caught doing anything he shouldn't be doing. Hard lesson to learn!

An 18/19yo could be perfect as a housesitter!

Good morning lovelies.

So, we are going to have nasty, vasty weather all weekend. TS Lee has decided to roll on through at a snail's pace. At least we remembered to turn off the sprinklers before getting the 20 inches of rain. ;)

Good morning Ladies.

I'm trying to get the nerve up to go the grocery store on a Saturday of a Labor Day weekend. I'm thinking I'd rather eat cereal all weekend.

Stay dry, Amie!

Missy! Safe travels! :cool1:
