PMS in a Healthy Handbasket--Thread Abandoned--Move on, Nothing to see here

Well I started today so I am posting. You can post whenever you feel like it. But if you tell me you had pizza and ice cream for dinner I may have to find you and KILL YOU! ;)

Nope, but I was bad and had a chocolate donut! :duck:

I actually had a veggie lasagna made with low fat ricotta. Not too bad.

OK....I just weighed myself for the first time in months and months...:eek:

So here's what I'm starting now (ok, tomorrow)...

as of tomorrow, no more sugar in my coffee...fake stuff instead. No snacking as of tomorrow...coffee for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and desert on occation...have to get rid of the ice cream). Only sugar free drinks from this point forward. I pulled out the skinless chicken breasts for dinner tomorrow...instead of frying them up and pairing them with fries, I'm going to saute them in olive oil and have them with rice.

When I go to the store this weekend....NO JUNK! We'll add salad as a staple to our diet to fill us up. (told DH he was on a diet too) I'll even get the crappy fat free dressing.

You shouldn't give up snacks! :thumbsup2 Eat good ones like fruit, veges, cheese and crackers or yogurt. Even your beloved popcorn is good, as long as you have the snack size low fat ones. I find if I don't have some sort of snack between lunch and dinner I head straight for the junk at home.



One thing I have realized. I would go into weigh ins on Mondays thinking "I ate all weekend long there's no way I lost" and I usually do. I think it because although I ate a lot I was actually eating small meals every few hours and that is a suggestion that lots of weight loss regimens suggest. So that is what I am going to try. :thumbsup2

I don't either Lara. I have some places that sacrifices have to be made and some where I just can't. My coffee is one of them! I like flavored creamer and I just can't handle the low fat low sugar stuff. I just try to use less of the good stuff. That is my "treat" for the day. Otherwise I would start the day bad and that is not a good thing.
 
I like Equal ok...I just have to go to the store and buy some to stash in my office. I also can get some of the non-fat creamer...which I use at home.
 

ok grrr Im really hungry this morning....Im off the bread every other day starting today. Bread is a big downfall of mine. I need to go get the bread thats 40 calories a slice.

B: 2 Eggo Whole Grain Waffles with sugar free syrup
Water

S: Lite Yogurt and a cheese stick

L: Leftover Chicken Caccatori from last night with Whole Wheat Pasta
Water

D: Okay, didn't have what I planned--had fruit and veggies at the party. Just got home and am still hungry so I need to find something else but am too tired to eat. . .

Going to DD's 5th grade Celebration/Graduation Party all afternoon and evening and will be surrounded by cake, chips, cookies, donuts and other goodies :eek: There is also a lot of fruit and veggies so I will stick close to those. My biggest down fall is chips but it appeared most were plain flavor--not my favorites.
 
I had yogurt for breakfast and am having leftover lasagna and salad for lunch. For dinner I plan on having a chile lime chicken burger with roasted fingerling potatoes and corn for dinner.

I also brought some Brie to have with crackers for my afternoon snack.
 
So far I've had a bowl of honey nut cheerios with skim milk, a salad with chicken, and a diet root bear. I'll probably have left over beef with a veggie for dinner.
 
Had coffee for breakfast and a roast beef wrap for lunch...ate the chips but countered them with fruit salad for desert.
 
OK, I'm in too! I'm up to the 5 lb challenge!
I haven't eaten anything yet today.
 
Do I need to remind some of you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day???? ;) Coffee or nothing is just not enough!

I have my healthy snacks and dinner all packed for tonight and I am off. I did resist the cake, but had a glass of punch that was packed with sugar. I am really thirsty today. Helping my water intake alot, but I have to peeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I am doing calorie restriction, max of 1200, and tons of exercise. So far I am down 25 lbs since Feb 6th, although I took 2 weeks completely off which included a WDW trip. I do my food journal through SparkPeople (which rocks!) but would love feedback here.
 
Okay so I didn't do great on the food today but I did
drink a TON of water and I avoided the donuts brownies and Ice cream
where I work

so not a bad start...............

Absolutely all can join! I joined SparkPeople yesterday, so haven't had much time to use it, but am trying to follow South Beach so I don't know if I will get much from it. I like trying to find new recipes though.

What kind of exercise are you doing?

Oh, and don't listen to Cheater Pants Lara--she is just taunting us with her ice cream!
 
Okay, I have done alright today. Was going into a downward spiral but came here and grabbed my water bottle instead.:thumbsup2 I am at almost 64 oz of water so far today.

For breakfast
Coffee with cream and sugar 3 pts
milk 2pts
mini wheats 3 pts.

Lunch
Yogurt 5
cheese 1

snack
pretzels 1
1 cookie 2

dinner
carrots 0
spaghetti 5
water

5 hershey kisses

And because I am seriously lacking in the fruit and veggie dept I am going to have cantalope for the evening treat and a glass of V8. I have to figure out how many pts those kisses were.

L: Smart Ones Roast Beef (190), activia yogurt (70)
S: Apple (60), Strawberries (50)
D: Tuna salad (160) used for lettuce wrap, salad (100)
S: FF popcorn (180), 2 light beers (246)
Total, ~1166. Exercise, 17 min on elliptical trainer, 35 min of weight training
96 oz water, women's vitamin, Mega-T Green Tea w/ hoodia in morning and afternoon.

:laughing: on the ice cream cheat... my weakness are potato chips, dips, wings, fries (esp McD's), pub food, and beer. Ice cream/sweets don't usually tempt me. Weekends are my worst time, too much free time and I seem to want to fill it with food.

I think I have somewhat trained my tummy to not need as much food, or maybe I am filling up on veggies. I just don't seem to be as hungry. Maybe it is the Mega-T?

My exercise routine is M/Thurs 45 min on the elliptical (up to ~3 miles). Tues/Thurs elliptical warmup (15-18 min) and weight training. I alternate free weights and machines. All gym days include crunches on the machine and on the darn dirty exercise ball, which btw should have horns and a tail painted on! Wednesdays I play ice hockey for 1 hour.

It has taken me 3 months to work up to this routine... I started with 2 days cardio only, then added weight training, then hockey, then added the extra 2 days cardio about 2-3 weeks ago.

Love, I don't know much about South Beach. I have tried Atkin's in the past with varying success, but I can't stick to it very well. I like the calorie restriction thing because I can work in cheats and just reduce calories elsewhere.

Hey Kat and Welcome from the other end of the state.

Okay, I didn't have leftover roast and salad like I said I would last night. That will be dinner tonight. Kids and I had to escape the house last night because of the chemicals they sprayed to dry out the mold from our little leak. DH is out of town, so we went to the chinese buffet. I ate fruit, chicken, seafood salad, small helping of noodles, spinach and sushi. Not the best food in the world, I know. But after 2.5 months of this, I'm entitled to a little cheating, right Lara. ;)
 
Kat, your exercise is awe inspiring! And ice Hockey also! I am currently unable to even walk much--thus the need to lose the weight, but I think that I need to do some weight training. At least on my upper body. As long as I don't do anything with my feet I would be okay. You have inspired me. I think I will make the appointment for orientation at the Y on the weight machines. I will be going there to swim.

I also love how you manage to use your calorie reduction program to still fit in 2 beers! That is a great way to still have what you love. Are you using the Spark People meal plans at all, or just forming your own?
