PMS in a Healthy Handbasket--Thread Abandoned--Move on, Nothing to see here

Merle...yes to a little tiny tiny fridge that I share...no freezer and an hour commute in.

Here are some of the lunches that I bring to work.

Salads- I like to mix it up and eat things other than the norm on it like fruit. I usually put lettuce in a bag then bring in containers with what I am having on it. Today I have strawberries and blue cheese. One of my most favorite salads, I take a can of tuna, drained and add lots of lemon or lime juice, salt and pepper. I put that in a small container and then for lunch just pour it over the lettuce. No need for salad dressing.

Frozen meals- I put them in the fridge, they will stay pretty well frozen until lunch time. I will have a salad or other vegetable with them.

For breakfast I usually have yogurt and a banana or other in season fruit. And for snack I will have low fat cheese on crackers, a 100 calorie pack, fruit, hummus and carrots.

OK...off to find something healthy for lunch....tuna with fat free mayo?:thumbsup2

Yeah, hi there KittyKat, you really do fit right in doll. :thumbsup2

So, I'm 5-7, size 12 shoe, married, 38, 2 boys 12 and 5, I teach but am off for summer.

I forgot the powerbars. :confused3 What do you expect? My mind is completely gone today. It's a wonder I am functioning.

I'm having milk for lunch. Don't ask for more, it's all my stomach will do.

I just want to say to my WISH buddies: YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :woohoo:

Well let see:

Maybe forward or strange :thumbsup2

Likes alcohol :thumbsup2

Health issues of any sort :thumbsup2

Cheap/on a budget :thumbsup2

YEP! You will fit RIGHT IN with us in the PMS thread! :lmao: Hop on over and say Hi! :wave2: Sometimes it is slow, especially in the evenings. It tends to be more active in the mornings.

I just didn't want to you to get weirded out/scared off by the realization that we obviously knew each other. And even among the group there are some of us that know each other better than others. Like Kayla and I are good internet friends away from the PMS thread, cause we chat almost every day.

Hmmmm, hockey and rugby chicks. Remind me not to piss any of you off.

Hehe... I am pretty new to DIS so I am used to being the newbie. If you have AIM/yahoo and want to chat in the evenings (after 7-8PM), I am katk1975 on AIM and katk23 on y!.

Thanks!! I hope you feel better.

My lunch today is a turkey sammich (130), a salad (100), wow chips (75), 2 pickles (10), and a yogurt (70), total about 385. I didn't have bfast, I only do bfast on gym days. I am totally hooked on light-done-right three cheese ranch at the moment. I don't even like ranch much, but this is GOOD.

I have an apple and calorie-free caramel for a snack, and a banquet sliced beef meal (230) and a cozy shack apple dessert (70) for dinner. I will eat something else after I get home from hockey, likely popcorn, and maybe another light beer if I have the calories.

Kat, we chat a lot on MSN. Load it up baby, we have tons of fun. I'm easy to remember: paigevz@hotmail.com. Add me, and I'll hook you up with the rest. :thumbsup2

Had my weigh in today, down 1.8 pounds! :woohoo:

1.8 more to go for my first 10!!!

I celebrated with pork lo mein. :rolleyes1

Yay Phors! :yay: Good job on the loss.

Yeah, hi there KittyKat, you really do fit right in doll. :thumbsup2
Another warning you should know--we also tend to be big on nicknames! Either that or miss Paigey was confused!!

I am also a SAHM with three kids 10, 7 and 5. Girl and two boys. We homeschool but I am OFF for the summer thank you! I have a lot to lose. I was doing really well last year at this time and continued on a good path all the way til the holidays. Then I crashed and burned. In early Jan I started having weird symptoms--numbness, horrible fatigue, etc--and two months down the road found out I have MS. So, since Jan I have hardly gotten to the gym at all. not good. And my eating....well it's even more not good.

So, here I am to start anew. Except I really blew it for lunch today. Got a cheeseburger and fries via fast food. Need to plan better and I will get there. I am going tonight to stock up on Lean Cuisine's etc so I have easy fast choices available to me. DH just mentioned that he wants to be eating more vegies so we are together in that. I am also drinking a TON of water. And it is my goal to make it into Curves today. I just have to figure out when I am going. Friday I am going to the Y. Make sure ya all ask me if I have gone okay?

Were we supposed to introduce ourselves? Guess I missed that memo.

Lte's see, I'm a SAHM (disabled) and I have 4 boys. One is 23 and married. He's a sergeant in the Army (MP) currently at K-9 school in Texas. I have a 20 year old who just finished his 2nd year of college as a journalism major. The 2 left at home are 17 and 15. They just finished school today so next year one will be a senior, the other a sophmore (God willing).

I have a variety of health problems so its so easy to be a slug and do nothing but watch the weight pile on. After our last family vacation and DH and I looked at the pictures we did not like what we saw at all and decided it was time to do something about it. We tried atkins before (made me sick) and south beach but for us they were too restrictive. My mom swears by weight watchers so I walked across the street and joined. How convenient is that! While DH isn't offically a member he is still following the plan and watching his points.
The kids have adjusted well to the new way of eating (not a diet, but a new way of eating) and actually like it very much. They like the whole grain foods, especially the wheat pasta and brown rice. They love vegetables anyway so that wasn't a problem and they've always been fruit eaters too. Its nice not having to cook 2 seperate meals, they are very happy eating what we eat (just more of it).
My DH and I do have a goal. There is a picture of us posing with Mr. Incredible that we took in February. We are going to retake that picture in November to see the difference. I can't wait!
So, that's my story and I'm sticking with it!

Okay, here's my intro....
I'm a 36 yr old SAHM (I will NEVER work again!!!!!) of DD10, DD8, and DS1.9. I am always running kids around or volunteering for something. Was at the weight I wanted, 170, then I got prego with DS. Unfortunately, I have hyperemesis when I'm pregnant, so the only things I could eat without getting majorly sick were starches, so the weight piled on to the tune of 80 pounds! I am down from 250 to about 210. I am 5'11, size 11 shoe (you size 12s are making me feel better about my big feet). The biggest reason I haven't lost more weight since Paddy arrived is because of my deep love and admiration of all things chocolate.

When I get home, I definitely will! "Big Brother" here at work doesn't allow chat programs. :headache:

...

My bad... I am a newbie and introduced myself, and I think I started it.

This day is never-ending. I don't think I have enough calories to make it to hockey, so I discovered a soup at hand in my desk to add to my dinner. :) Somehow I forgot my lunchtime yogurt. I always seem to forget one thing... one day I remembered my apple dip but not my apple!

Guess I forgot a few things....

I was up to 177. When I offically started weight-watchers I was 170 pounds. My goal weight right now is 140. So hopefully I'll take off the 30. I'm 5'4 and 43 years old. I wear an 8 1/2-9 shoes and a size 14 pant but got into 12's today! :woohoo:

You're only 5-4 Phors? I didn't know that.

I was bad after the dr. I had hot chocolate, a bologna sandwich and circus peanuts. Don't ask me why. Felt like it.

Yeah, I'm a shorty. My kids tower over me. Jeff is like 6'2. I look at him and think 'you came out of me????'

Honey, you're entitled to splurge tonight.

I am an Administrative Assistant for a childcare program. I don't think I'll post my weight :scared1: but I need to lose at least 100lbs. I have always been heavy but I went from a fairly active life while working in the programs we run to working in the office. Here I spend most of my day on the computer.

I had lost almost 40 before on WW and even after going off of it maintained the majority of it by going to the gym regularly. What with a lot of stress at work and then my mother being home on disability for 6 months I stopped so the weight came back.

I really need to buckle down and get to it, no excuses.

I had a late start to my day today. But the good news is that the shot in my foot has taken effect so I have a few weeks of pain relief ahead of me (I hope).

I had a very late breakfast at 12:30!

B: Go Lean Oatmal Coffee Water

L: 1/2 serving of Sauteed Chicken and couscous, water

S: Whole Wheat bread, 1 oz lunch meat and cheese stick, 1 oz peanuts, water

D: pork chop, 1/2 cup brown rice, steamed broccoli, diet pepsi

S:

This was a good day. I have been in so MUCH pain for so long I have forgotten what it is like to actually not be in pain and be able to walk some. I can't believe just how it changes my whole mood and makes me just want to get up and go. I was back to my my mostly active get up and go self today. I feel pretty good! I know that right now this is temporary, but if I lose the weight maybe it can be permanent.

I had to go and get a bunch of stuff at Walmart so I still used the electric cart--if I push myself to much I will be back in pain pretty fast. Everyone commented at the pool about my walking without crutches or a cane. I start PT tomorrow morning.

My day today....

Coffee for breakfast (I'll try harder)

Tuna with fat free mayo and two pieces of cheese on whole wheat crackers for lunch

For dinner, a hamburger with no bun and a few fries...baked not fried....and applesauce (went to the dentist today...in the chair for two hours...I am in PAIN...couldn't get the whole burger down. I may have ice cream tonight, but mostly because it's soft.

So here's a question...for my night time snack....is sherbert better for you? I seem to recall hearing that it was.

I believe it's same on the sugar, but less fat.

For dinner I'm having a full sugar coke and Mc D fries. I am very very very bad today. I think it'd be best if I just started tomorrow.

Hello! Paige and Lara, I think today you can have whatever you want. Lara, try sorbet or those real fruit popsicles by Edy's. They have one that tastes like a pina colada.

Today I had

Honey Nut Cheerios with skim milk
salad with chicken
leftover pot roast, lima beans, and a package of Bird's Eye Garlic Cauliflower.
I also had 2 Russell Stover sugar free toffee bites and enough diet coke to drown a small child.

I will be staying in a hotel from Sunday to Thursday while the girls are at sports camp, so eating healthy will be harder then.
