Hi everybody - I was off yesterday and I am trying to catch up with work!!
It is blazing hot already - I am afraid to go home today - the subways will be MURDER!!! :sunny:

I just picked Ben up from the eye dr...he was there working on his contacts all morning. From 9:30 until 12:15. He said while he was there an 11yo girl came in for a fitting and totally got it down in 5 minutes. :rotfl2: Poor Ben, but he was determined and did figure it out. Hey, I'm pretty sure it's the same fitting fee whether we take up 5 minutes of her time or several hours, so I say we go for several hours since she is such a smuck. :rotfl:

The butt appt is at 3PM. I hate going to the dr, especially right before vacation. Who knows what illnesses we will be exposing ourselves to, but when his butt hurts, we've got to go. :lmao:

Decided I didn't have time for the pool until this afternoon or evening, so will wait on that. Yes, a hot bath would be the same, except I don't want to do that with Jake. :teeth:

I need to squeeze in a trip to the grocery store, too. I'm getting kind of tired of spending time in my hot van and would rather just take a nap. I didn't get enough sleep last night and I've had a dull headache for over a day now, but not quite enough to take the migraine meds. If I still have it tonight I will take medicine, though since it's grating on my nerves.

insorry, remember, I like fruit salad! :teeth:

It's a 115 heat index here today. The thermometer in my garden says 99 and that's in the shade!!!

I have been running around putting out insurance fires for our lovely and ever so grateful daughter. How hard is it to understand that she's covered until she's 21 because the court decrees that? Especially when I have faxed BCBS a copy of the decree a dozen times??? EVERY single time she has a claim since the day she turned 18, they've denied it. Every single time they've denied it I've sent them a faxed copy of the divorce decree. Every single time they say they'll fix it. Every single time I believe them. :furious:

Luv, I feel for you. Puppies are adorable but I HATE the puppy stage. I get so frustrated. I seriously considered finding a new home for Petey when he was about 6 months old. He was having a tough time getting the potty training thing down and he's always been so dependent. He was a good 18 months before I really stopped thinking about it. Get thee a copy of Surviving Your Dog's Adolescence by Carol Lea Benjamin. It's worth it's weight in gold. It'll really help you understand puppyhood and will help you establish your Alpha role which will make all of your lives easier. :grouphug:

Well, I've had 3 salads and boy am I *hic* stuffed. :teeth:

I don't wanna go to the t-ball game. I'm going, but I don't wanna.

OMG shug!! Get a supervisor on the phone!!!
Man its hot :guilty:

I am going over the first week of our curriculum as well. I plan to start monday as that is when we would have started school if we still lived in Phoenix.

Briar, are you homeschooling too? (Mom to a homeschool graduate here)

:lmao: That IS the supervisors Angel :lmao: It always seems to go like this:

DD goes to doc
Ins denies claim due to ended coverage (she turned 18 8/7/05)
I call ins and fax them copy of decree
Ins pays claim and swears they'll fix it in the computer.

repeat with each and every doc visit. :rolleyes2

Came back with bread, peanut butter, jelly, chocolate milk, a chocolate bar, 2 donuts, a block of cheese, popcorn and lettuce :confused3

Interesting combination there Angel. Trying to figure how the lettuce fits in. LOL

I ran to the pool store and got some shock so I'm going to dump about 2 bags in there. I'd love to have it swimmable for tomorrow and Thursday. I'm sure it was a combination of low chlorine and too much sun.
Oh well......easy fix.

Ok, Shug send a copy of the decree certified!!

4S did you get the water tested?

LB Briarmom will start home schooling and continue once she is settled overseas with her DH. SHE BETTER HAVE INTERNET THERE!

   It's now 101 here. Our condo complex has a pool so I thought I'd go for a dip. I open the gate and there is a group of 3 moms and their various kids. About 6 or 8 kids in all varying in age from infant in diapers to 12ish. They seem to be decently behaved so I put my towel on a chair and go dip my toe in to check out the water. That's when I notice it:eek:  Something resembling a Baby Ruth candy bar!!! One of the older kids screams EEEEEWWWWW gross!!!!!!!!!! Seems little Johnny removed his diapy and we are all now swimming in his toilet. I quickly hopped out and stopped at the office to inform them on my way home. Excuse me while I go bathe now. So much for a cooling swim. At least mom had the manners to remove her child.

Briar-what are you using for school? I just decided to go with Winterpromise. Which means I just spent a boatload of money. I am in a bit of sticker shock. DH told me too. I will have to remind him of that when he sees the bank statement.

Shug--yucky about the pool. It has been really hot here too. Today is a bit cooler but it has been raining on and off and it is incredibly humid.

There is a Nat'l Night out party for our neighborhood at the park smack dab in front of my house tonight. This means that I am going to have to feel like a mean mommy when I don't let my kids go for very long so I can go to water aerobics. Feeling quite guilty about that, let me tell you. Wouldn't be too bad but they have two jumping houses and the whole nine yards. I am going to be a very unpopular mommy tonight!

I am using Calvert. I have not heard of Winterpromise. I hope this will work for us.
OK, have to go. Root situation appointment draws near. :teeth:

imsorry, thanks for the fruit salad--looks great!

I brought Zach to the butt dr and he has a bruised tailbone. :lmao: He had to go, anyway, to have his hepatitis shot, so better to have it looked at. We then went to Safeway and got some fruit. You should have seen us picking out a watermelon, the quest for the largest. :rotfl2: Alone I am bad enough, but the two of us together were quite the scene. We each picked the one we thought was the biggest and his won when we weighed them. That is, until we spotted the one at the far corner of the big watermelon crate thingy. We really had to work to get to it, however, with Zach handing me melons for me to put in other crates until he cleared a path. He actually had to crawl into the container to reach it and it was a beauty. Turns out it was 1/2 pound smaller than the one he'd picked out. :rotfl: I wonder if the store had cameras on us. BTW, this is not our neighborhood Safeway--we NEVER would have done this there! :teeth:

I'm going to work on dinner so we can eat at a decent time and then bring Jake to the pool.

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry that the heat is so bad. We've had 30 days of 95 or higher temps, but these last two days we had a storm came through and it has cooled things down to the lower 60's. Feels so nice. DH and I took the boys to the park last night for the first time in weeks and weeks, we let them play in the rain and run around. It's tough when its so hot they can't play outside because they'll melt and then its the other extreme in the winter and its so cold they freeze.
I'm feeling a little out of sorts today. I think I might be coming down with a cold.
