Shug, I saw Obi's update. I hope that Lauri gets rest today. What does her mom have that means that she needs so much care? (you don't have to answer, of course).

I know she told me at one time but I don't remember. I do know she requires 24 hour care so it's going to be a long weekend for her. It was an emergency last minute thing, her brother and family usually care for mom but they needed to go out of town for the weekend. Normally not a big deal but with her health taking a nose dive yesterday very bad timing. Neither has called so I assume they feel like they can handle things but I'm there if they need.

Just real tired. Pain in my shoulder is getting better though. And I'm bored outta my skull. How YOU doin ;)

I am ready for happy hour. Anyone else?

I am! :thumbsup2 But I have to wait until tomorrow. :(

Pshaw you say!
Whatever for? What are you doing on a Friday :yay: night that would pre-empt drinking? :confused3

 :rolleyes1

I don't  when I have been :drinking1

Plus DH is beat by Friday night since his shift is so early.

Pour me a drink, Briarmom! Virtual drinks don't cause migraines, thankfully! I need to sit back down and read the paper because my head wants to start hurting again. I need to go pick my 15yo up from his internship in an hour, which means rush hour traffic--not a fun drive. And to think he's not getting paid, either.

DM3, I don't think that my kids would have done well with homeschooling. My DD would have liked it when she was little and then when she was about the age of your DD, she would have driven my crazy. My 15yo--no way!!! My 12yo would have been the only one. He's very self motivated and I can imagine having him at home. Jake? :rotfl2: I was counting the days before I could send him to school and he so loves being there with the other kids. So one out of 4. But of course sometimes a person does what they need to do, which is what my sister did with her kids when she was living in Germany and really needed to homeschool since the alternatives were not good. And she did until high school with one nephew even after she was back to the US. He's now and astrophysics major and such a bright kid (a grown version of Jake, so I know there is hope :teeth: ).

DM3, did your kids find the door and come back inside? I used to know someone who would lock his kids outside when they'd go outside to play.

:yay: We have leftovers for dinner--Homemade mac/cheese from last night. Good news, huh?

I'm confused--is Briarmom drinking or  ? She needs to make up her mind!

:thumbsup2 I give you thumbs up, but I am mega-jealous.
Big ole' fat jealousy. Here. In my chair. That's why the thumbs up guy is green. He is green with envy.

I'll drink with you Briarmom :thumbsup2 I may need a nap first though. Is there a cot around here?

T&B, have you tried acupuncture for your migraines? I had a course of treatments, about 6, and i was migraine free for almost two years. It's time to go have some more done, they are getting really frequent again for me.

OK, I am going to the park. So I will need lots of drinks when I get home.
The kids are on my last nerve today and ds is even complaining about going to the PARK! :furious:

I'm sorry Briarmom, about the kids driving you nuts and for making you jealous. Believe me I feel guilty even mentioning  .
T&B, Briarmom wants to :drinking1, and I am , but not with Briarmom (not that there is anything wrong with that ;) ).

I should look into that--I've only recently heard of it and am willing to try anything short of killing myself and some days I'm tempted. ;) How did you find someone? I wouldn't know where to begin. A friend was telling us about going to one for foot problems and after a few treatments his terrible pain was almost totally gone.

OK, now I really am going to go read the paper.

Hey T&B, I know someone here at work who took her son to an acupuncturist for some mood problems and she said it really worked. I can try and get you the name on Monday if she comes into work.

I worked at a chiropracters office, and she practiced there. First, check and see if you insurance covers it, and if it does, choose from their lists. Otherwise, I would ask around. They are usually D.O.M (Doctor of Oriental Medicine) or A.P (Acupuncture Physician). Good luck!

Yesterday I got this call here at work, seems I put my name in to win a dinner for two on Saturday. On August 9th a friend and I get to go and have dinner at TGIFriday's at which a chiropracter will give a little talk. Thanks to my lovely bosses boss. :thumbsup2 She decided to put my name in for me, even though I walked right past the booth the chiropracters office had. Thank goodness she doesn't know my home phone number.

We have returned from the park.
WHY? You ask!!!!!
Because:

Pushing on the swing overandoverandover in the hot sun gets old. Then when you say 'it's time to go play on the equipment' we have a full up screaming crying fit.
A tantrum.
'I wanna fwing!' overnandover.
Then it is 'I have to go potty'
OK...umm...the doors are locked.
DD is screaming still 'I don't wanna go!!!!!!'
We are not going honey, we just need to find a bathroom for your brother.
We have to walk home in which ds keeps saying 'I don't have to go anymore!!!!!'
DD is still crying.
We get home and I force ds to go into the bathroom. He is STILL in there.
DD is laying on the floor sweaty and sniffling.
Are you SURE you want to  tonight?

Oh, and to just add something else, I ran into my boss from the shoe store that I started working at when I was 17. He has not aged a bit. In 12 years.
MEN. :furious:
