No I didn't. :confused3
Well, I lost a chunk of my toe on the Boardwalk after a night at Jellyrolls. It is really nasty and painful. :guilty:

Look at it this way - you left a (little) piece of yourself at WDW. :teeth:

That sounds painful, Briarmom! Did it hurt at the time? That would indicate how sober/drunk your were at the time. ;)

Steph, I hope you can get some rest today while your kids are at school.

I need to finish my fun chores here so I can go furniture shopping. Just a little vacuuming left.

Morning!! I've been gone a few days - I'll tell you about my hair disaster later!

Briar, Chuck, Froggy - WELCOME HOME!!!!!!! :grouphug:

Shug and T&A - feel better!

Ok, I have great news and I just have to share with y'all:

My dh made captain with his fire department!!!!!!

The testing process has been chaotic and it's been going on for months, and he just found out that out of the 10 guys who were testing for the position, he got it! On the last test, he came out #11 out of 11 guys. So he went from worst to first! I'm so proud of him!

Thanks for letting me share! (BTW, I've only told two other people!)

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!! party:

Good Morning Sunshines :sunny: I woke up late

Oh man!! And I missed my chance. I was up at 6:30 which is darn early for me and for some random reason my internet was not working. Of course, I see your post is at 5:41 my time so I still would not have beat you. :rotfl:

Welcome home Froggy and Briar!! That toe sounds like it would hurt. Hearing about people coming back makes me even more ready for my trip. Of course, I have Yellowstone first so have done very little planning for WDW. Who thought it was a good idea to do two major trips in one month???

My day will be filled with laundry and more laundry. I am leaving Friday night, I am planning to bring lunch type food and snacks and beverages as well as just the general "we are going to be in the car for a week and I need to plan for every eventuality" kind of stuff that I always pack the car with. I need to get at least one new DVD for the kids and we need to go to the library for books on tape. And all that laundry has to make it into the suitcase. I also need to get the car washed and vacuumed and then pack it myself because.....well, let's just be gentle and say that is not one of DHs strengths.

Ahhhhhhh--what I am doing on the internet?????

Actually I am hiding out for a few minutes. The boys are watching a video which is unheard of on a school day morning and DD has a friend over to play. Oh, that is the other thing I am supposed to do--teach my kids. I think it is time for the T&B phrase "crap on a cracker."

Oh!! And my Yellowstone notebook with activities notes and hotel names and phone numbers is MIA!

I love the "crap on a cracker" expression. I didn't make it up, but I forgot who uses it, so we can pretend that I do. Is it you, Steph? :confused3

Packing is not my DH's thing, either. He can almost handle his own stuff, if we use our imagination, but actually loading the van is a joke. I have to do it. The times that he has done it he willy nilly puts things in the van. I thought that it's something that goes along with having testosterone, but he will put little bags in first, then try to put big suitcases, leaves a bunch of dead space, say that things won't fit, etc, etc. Makes me crazy! I look at it like a puzzle. And before anything goes in, I make sure that all the pieces are there--I make a list of all the bags that should be there and then make sure that they are in the foyer and then that they make it out to the driveway and into the van. I've learned to totally leave my DH out of the process and have my older boys help. It sounds mean, but he truly doesn't get it. And with a big family we have to do it this way. It will be nice when we are to the point that we can go back to the willy nilly stage.

BTW, he loaded the van this summer when Zach forgot his baseball back when we were going to the baseball tournament 3 hours from home. No, I didn't have it written down, but my DH saw it in the garage and didn't mention it to Zach because he figured that Zach would get it because it's his bag, afterall. That's the kind of reasoning my husband uses. :rotfl: (it's funny now--it wasn't funny 2 1/2 hours from home! :rotfl2: )

:teeth: I can't take credit for making it up, but it's an oft used expression in our family.

I was watching the show Rescue Me not long ago, and one of the fire captains said "Blessed screaming Jesus on a whole-wheat god**** cracker!"
I just about died! :rotfl2:

I must remember that next time the nazi witch pt tries to rip my arm off! :lmao:

Good Morning all-

Welcome home to all our weary travelers, you were missed!

I had preschool parents day yesterday. Loads of fun. They had about 20 different activites that they wanted you to pick and chose from to volunteer. Things like a field trip to the fire station (yep) and the turkey farm (aww, nope), a Halloween party, picture day, etc..... Do Moms get cliquie (is it cliquie or clickie or it is not a word at all?) this early in their kids schooling? I ask because wow we have some very uptight preschool Moms already. One little queen bee had her little worker bees signing up for the exact same parties and field trips- so they could be together and best friends forever, alrightly then. My favorite event of the day was the class list- Zack has twin boys in his class. Their names are Pierce and Brosnan, hopefully neither shaken or stirred.

At least their names aren't "Walker" and "Texas Ranger", or "Dr. Quinn" and "Medicine Woman"... :teeth:

Ricky Bobby rocks!

Love the preschool twin names! :rotfl2: What are some parents thinking?

Yes, I came home with my shoes. :thumbsup2

My toe hurt pretty badly when I did it. I was drunk, but not drunk drunk. It hurts a lot now still.

Oh man!!! Did Mom and Dad have another girl they forgot to tell me about??? That is exactly how I pack the car AND exactly what DH does if I ask him to do it. It still baffles me once in awhile because it seems SO obvious to me how it should be done. And the thing is that I learned to pack this way from my dad. when I was little I literally would climb IN the trunk of the car and he would hand things to me to pack in there. I say it's a programmer/musician thing. He has an odd combination of passions so I figure it is safe to write it off as that. What does your DH do for a living?

I didn't know who started the saying, but I for sure remembered you using it.

Redshoes--I hate the mom cliques. Ugh ugh. Grow up already and get some self confidence so you can do things on your own. And Pierce and Brosnan..... :rotfl2: At least as they get older they will just be saying their own names. They should get in the habit of saying they are Brosnan and Pierce. Doesn't sound quite as bad.

My DH has worked in the computer field for years--he did marketing for years, but has been an analyst for quite some time. He has the geography/cartography background (and art before that), so you'd think that he'd be spatial, but no way, Jose! My artsy son can see how things should go a little, but he's quick to put things in, so he'd probably forget things. But there's hope. Maybe my middle son--he's the only one to get my travel planning skills. But you're right, it's so obvious to me and I get frustrated when he can't see something that is so obvious. And it's gotten so I don't even want him around because he stands there looking stupid. OK, can you tell this is a sore spot of mine? :rotfl2:

As to mom cliques, oh boy! I can't believe that they are already established in preschool! I first saw them in elem school at PTA, but not before that time. I'll never forget the first PTA meeting I went to when my DD was in kindergarten. I was all ready to finally go to a meeting and nobody said a word to me--they all chatted in their little group and I stood their looking like an idiot. Looking back, there were probably plenty of other lost idiots like me and I should have looked for them (it was the first meeting of the year), but I was just shocked at what I saw. I so try now to include people in meetings like that and not let someone stand there all alone.

It will take me several hours to drive there. You have time to clean the bathroom.
