Thing 1 has decided he is in charge of telling his brother to get out of the kitchen. I have been telling him to stop for some time. He always orders his brother out of the kitchen and then Thing 2 stays in to bug him, Thing 1 gets mad and does something, then Thing 2 does something, and then Thing 1 yells and then dh yells at Thing 2. I keep telling him that Thing 1 starts it, but he still yells at Thing 2.
So tonight I am sitting here when it starts and I am telling Thing 1 he is not banishing his brother from the kitchen. Thing 2 can certainly be in the kitchen if he wants to. He argues with me that Thing 2 doesn't NEED to be in the kitchen. I tell him Thing 2 is not his child, he is not the parent, and it is my kitchen and to leave his brother alone. Thing 1 says to me, yells actually that he will do whatever he wants.
I told him he most certainly will not. Then after a few minutes he says to me "Make him get out of the kitchen." I asked him if he knew who I was.......that he simply was NOT going to talk to me that way.
I really think Santa should leave coal in these boys' stockings this year.
