I made an awesome batch of chocolate chip cookies last night. I need to make peanut brittle today. I promised the kids I would make sugar cookie dough and have it ready this afternoon for them to make decorated cookies. I cant find a sugar cookie recipe I like so I wanted to get one from shug...cause we all know she is the queen of cookies.

Ive still gotta get my gift for the exchange. Maybe I will go tomorrow after my root canal :)

Are you nuts? I really doubt you're going to feel like doing it after a root canal. Although it will make for an interesting gift for your recipient. Teo's going to be SUI!

What kind of sugar cookie recipe are you looking for? The ones we always make are fantastic for decorating... the dough is stiff, and it makes a nice firm cookie that will hold a ton of icing. They're not soft, chewy cookies, though.

I like soft and chewy cookies. I am just wanting one to roll out to use cookie cutters then to use the sprinkles. Im not doing the icing decorating since J likes to eat them and I am trying to help her stick to her weight loss.

So it dawned on me this morning that my daughter's first band concert is tomorrow night and I dont' remember seeing any wheelchair seating in the auditorium where they are doing it. Normally I would just plan to park myself behind the last row of seats, but there is a wall about shoulder high directly behind all the seats with openings only to the aisles, that have to be kept clear.

So where do they put wheelchairs? I can transfer to a seat, but only to an end of the aisle seat, I can't skooch between the seats. And once I sit down no one can get around me so I will be in the way.

I emailed her band teacher to find out if there are wheelchair spots that I just didn't notice and apparently there aren't! She said they will save some seats for us. Not sure how they can have a High School Auditorium with no Wheelchair Seating? And what if someone brings Grandma that can't get out of her wheelchair?

If my recipient gets an interesting gift it will be because said person never did list any ilkes or dislikes.

Im living on coffee ...I cannot drink anything cold as it hurts too bad...eating really makes it hurt so Ive been drinking coffee all day for days. maybe Ive lost a pound or two this week. I did manage some ramen noodles yesterday at lunch.

I used to have a really great sugar cookie recipe, but I've misplaced my recipe book with all of my sweet stuff in it.

Whatever recipe you go with, use real butter. It makes a huge difference.

Scrappy, that makes absolutely no sense. What were they thinking when they built that auditorium? What if a student was using a wheelchair? That's just dumb. I hope the concert goes well. What does she play? My DS plays the sax, and his concert is next week. Woo. Hoo.

I guess I better get some things done. I'll be back later!

I make a candy sort of like cracker candy, but I use graham crackers and dark chocolate, then sprinkle on toasted nuts. :goodvibes

I keep buying stuff to bake with, and it keeps getting eaten. In fact, I was going to try that pb/ritz dipped in chocolate thing, but all the ritz crackers dissapeared before I got around to it. The only thing I've actually made was some peppermint bark, and I gave it all away!

I was thinking of trying the recipe with graham crackers too.

yes robin I always use real butter and unsalted butter works even better yet !! Have fun doing things :)

Scrappy, has this school not heard of the Americans with Disabilities Act? Seems like they would have had to made some changes to not get in trouble with that.

I can't believe this. DD wears a size 7 1/2 shoe. I figured I would get her the crocs one size down from mine. But I just looked at the last pair of knock offs I got her and they are 7's and she never wore them because they were too small. Size small Crocs are 6-7. I am going to have to order her the SAME SIZE as me! She is only 12!

The good news is I was trying to decide if I should get her red or pink. Now I know to get her pink so I can borrow them! I already have red!

my 12 yo wears the same size shoe as me ..and is less than an inch shorter...shes going to be a tall one for sure !

I got a confirmation from maddi for DC ;) now scrappy HAS to come nanner nanner boo boo (ok evidently I have to make that two words...the filter didnt like it )

WHAT? That is preposterous!

 After tomorrow you will feel soooo much better.

I wore the same size shoe at 12 as I do now. Bomb=not tall.:sad2:

Oh, and I will not be helping in the baking department. Our oven holds ONE 9X13 pan. One. Uno. We won't be having cookies to speak of.:sad2:

maybe I should have went to get some Baileys to go with my lortab :rotfl:

so bake them in a cake pan.....Ive done it before...last week I didnt have any aluminum foil and had a roll of sugar cookie dough, and a serious craving LOL. I cut it and dropped it in a cupcake pan in the holes....and sprinkled cinnamon sugar on top..they were awesome I just knocked a minute off the cook time . Once they cooled they came right out of the hole.
