I got a pm today from someone hoping the new guidelines chopped off Chachis head

apparently my blank space seems to be safely with in the guidelines..lol

Caro, kids are so difficult at that age. Bryan is in 8th grade this year, too. I'm fortunate that he does his work on his own, but we had a year or two that we struggled with it. Have you considered asking them to hold her back a year at your request, and does she know that the counselor said they'd pass her anyway? I would imagine that knowing that she could get left behind while all her friends are in HS would be a good incentive to do her work and pass.
No, she wasn't there so she doesn't know. We have tlked about the possibility of her being held back, it made her cry, but hasn't changed anything.

She probably is...I didn't realize that. I'd love to see her again! :cool1:

Caro, as a parent you can insist that she be held back if you know she's not ready to move on. Hopefully you'll be able to get to the root of the problem so you'll know how to proceed. How so very frustrating for all of you.

Caro, everything a child does is for a reason - the hard thing is, even they may not know what that reason is - could she being doing this thinking it would MAKE you help her? Just a thought.
That is a possibility. Maybe I've enabled her to get in the mess because since 3rd grade I've been on her to get work done, sat with her alot, helped her, etc. Even last year when i was working 2nd shift, I was still on top of her. I just can't do it anymore. She has to want it.
3P's, it could be an attention thing, I suppose. We do spend time together though. I always try to make some one on one time with both girls, listen to their problems and try to help them. I just don't know what to do know.

I just spoke to my FIL. DH's grandmother has been moved to a rehab facility, but she's not really eating anymore. She'll feed herself for a little bit, and eat some when she's fed, but she's almost at the point where she's refusing food. She's on oxygen, and that's about as "life saving" as they'll get with her because she's a DNR. My FIL doesn't think she's coming home. I'm glad I went to see her on Saturday. :sad1:
 Nutty, it sounds like it was a good thing you went.
I'm waiting to hear back on how my Mom's appt with the chest surgeon went today.
