My Mom survived as well Lara! You must get your stregth from her

and now we know where Paige gets her

Lara, hang in there hun- both my Mom and my sis are survivors - Mom had a lumpectomy and radiation years ago, Sis had a double mastectomy, chemo, and reconstructive surgery only a few years ago, so I have seen alot of what goes on - let me know if I can help at all, ok?

So, got some bad news. My mother's biopsy results came back, it was malignant (breast cancer). I'm at work so I'm trying to keep it together. They'll operate in the next few weeks and then to either radiation therapy or chemo.

Anyway, they got it really early....so I'm trying to concentrate on that. Sorry to be a downer.

:grouphug:

My mother has had breast surgery for growths twice. She was lucky enough that it wasn't cancer. That being said, at least breast cancer has a much higher recovery rate than most cancers.

And you will not go through this alone!!! You know that Lara!

Sorry to hear that Lara. Thoughts and prayers for you mom and your entire family.

I'm sorry the news wasn't what you were hoping for Lara but if something good can come out of this is that they caught it early and you have a load of people saying prayers for your family.

She has a strong daughter fighting for her!

I have to run as I am on the blackberry but prayers are being said!

Hi my friends :wave2:

Lara, I'm very sorry to read of your mom's dx. I know you work in a hospital and probably can get info on radiation but if not let me know. I'll send it to you.

Caro, I can't dis at work either. The richard heads block it. I miss a lot. It sucks.

Tig, I hope your head stops hurting.

Off to the store. Talk to you later.

I took migraine meds, teva, and the headache is better, but I'm SO sleepy. And of course no time to sleep now. How was your day?

Hi Snowy and all the other newcomers. :wave2:

Awwww, Lara. :grouphug: I'll remember your mom (and the rest of your family) in my prayers.

I hate cancer. I've lost so many people to it, but I love hearing survivor stories. I'm sure this will be another one. :thumbsup2

HI SSSSNNNNOOOWWWYYY!!!!!

I was almost out the door and my daughter called. She wants to go to the store with me so I'm waiting for her.

Hi Tig, glad the heads better. Maybe you can go to bed a little earlier tonight?

Lara, sorry to hear about your mother. I'm sure that's very scary news, indeed. So many women survive breast cancer now, so try to keep the faith! :grouphug:

Hi Snowy and all the other newcomers. :wave2:

Mine was lovely.

I've done nothing but concentrate on 15 hours of MCE for my license, since yesterday evening. I only let the DIS distract me about 10 times, so I did pretty well, considering I did it online!

Thank goodness that's over for the next few years!

 UGH, what a day for you!

Sitting at work wasting time. Have to get my neice from my sister after 8:30, older sister has swim team from 7:45 to 8:30 and there is no way sis would make it back in time for that.

Have to go pick up some stuff for work and make a stop at Trader Joe's, need to leave here in about 15 min. It is going to be one busy weekend. :headache:

Ugh. So, Tig mentioned she needed to go through her son's clothes and see what he's outgrown........something I've been meaning to be doing with Thing 2 for a while, so I decide to go ahead and do it too. Dh has been doing our laundry (yes, he does that but his motive is because I don't do it "right") and putting all Thing 2's clothes along one wall even though we have a shelf for them in our room, and he has his own closet and dresser upstairs. So I begin with the shelf and the wall. Sorting that out takes a while.

Thing 1 had wanted blueberry pancakes for breakfast, and Tig had mentioned they were having those for dinner, so copycat again, I decide to do that as well. Only last time mom was here she used all the mix, so I have to do them from scratch. Okay no problem. Only 2 hours ago when I told Thing 2 to do his regular kitchen duty he didn't and now I have no working equipment or area.

Finally I get him to hand wash enough for me to get started and to clean the table, pancakes are done, little one's are cool enough (he won't eat anything the slightest bit warm) and we begin to eat. Dh begins with calling Thing 2 a little girl for not wanting his pancakes warm, then moving onto calling Thing 1 a drama queen and acting out a greatly exaggerated imitation of him holding his mouth where a sour blueberry got a mouth sore, and then says "Mmmmm, bread, fruit, butter and syrup. Now kids, this is a nutritious dinner."

So I finished with the load of laundry I had, and he is now taking a nap. The two kids have been fighting ALL day. At one point, one kid was completely in another part of the house, and the younger one was arguing at the top of his voice with his imaginary friend. No kidding. I am sooooo done with this day.
