Almost page 3??????????

Dang, that aint right!

Finally home from the opera. That's 4 hours of my life I'll never get back. Why do operas have to be so stinking long? And in those old narrow seats at the oh-so-full-of-charm-and-atmosphere-historic-theater with no leg room - torture. I told hubby after the 3rd act (of 4), "This is worse than a transatlantic flight", and he laughed and laughed and said, "You're absolutely right!" And I know The Marriage of Figaro is one of Mozart's masterpieces, but the storyline is STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pul-Leeze! The soprano lead was good, I liked her, but the rest of the cast was a big snooze fest. The first act we were stuck where they put the free ticket people, on the main floor under the balcony, where the sound stinks and you can't see the screen with the English subtitles, but for the remaining 3 acts we snuck into empty seats up in the nosebleed section of the balcony, which were actually an improvement.

Is it so dead around here because everybody's getting ready to go to Williamsburg?

And here I was, wanting to go to my first opera:eek:

Don't listen to me, Aimee, I'm just grumpy. I am a huge classical music lover, but I've never been an opera fan, and I was sort of obligated to go today. However, lots of people love the opera, and plenty of people probably loved the very performance I'm griping about, so don't be put off by my description. You should definitely try it for yourself!

LB, if you'd get your tushie over to MSN it wouldn't seem dead. :rolleyes1

I think it was La Boheme I was looking at in the paper today. I'm still going to try to go. And our Entertainment book has a buy one get one offer, so I wouldn't be out too much if it doesn't work for me ;)

La Boheme would be a great place to start. It has one of my favorite arias in it. And the coupon would help a lot!

Everyone say Hi to my DEAR friend, who is lurking and thinking of jumping in! :wave2:

People are dropping like flies on MSN, but if you figure it out, I'll PM you my username...

Hello Tiffer's deer friend.

Just Kidding! Jump in, the water's warm!

I'm off to bed. Night!
