Help me with figuring how much better crowds (and wait times) might be during the PM EMH from the Saturday before Easter through the following Saturday...maybe put it on a scale of 1-10? I mean if it's a 10 during the heaviest part of the day, does it dip down to a 5 later in the evening or is that wishful thinking?

I guess since I'm asking, can anyone do the same (1-10 when 10 applies to mid-day) for AM hours between rope drop and Noon? I know rope drop is best always, but wondering what exactly that means with regard to wait times (and crowds)?:confused3

TIA as I've read about Easter week planning until I'm cross-eyed, but need it broken down in kindergarten terms I guess.

It's going to be very, very busy.

;)

The first and last two hours of the day are always the slowest, unless there is a serious multi-hour rain storm on any given day. That said, on crowd level overall, these will be within the ten busiest days out of the entire year. Plan ahead and you will have success. To enjoy your trip, be anywhere except inside a theme park from 12:00-18:00 each day.

Actually, the week following Easter isn't *quite* as bad as the week before. But it's still busy and I would never skip the mornings that week!

Wow! That's a big chunk of the day!! Are parks usually open as late this week as the week before? I mean, if I go in at 6:00P can I get in 6+ hours there?

Not Easter week, but here's a sample of what we were able to accomplish on a recent Summer evening between 8 pm and midnight. The expected crowd level that day was an 8. There's no way we could have experienced this much in a morning.

This was not an EMH night and we did not use any FP+.

Big Thunder 3x
Splash Mtn 2x
Space Mtn 2x
Mine Train (10 min wait right a closing time)
Pirates
Jungle Cruise
Haunted Mansion
Pooh
Peter Pan
Speedway
Barnstormer 2x

We visit a lot of theme and amusement parks, and one thing that you can always count on no matter the location or time of year is that visitors will get tired and leave early. The late evening hours are by far the best time for multiple re-rides on headliners anywhere you go.

That's awesome!! But not possible for Easter, huh? We could do the late evening thing assuming we aren't doing early AM too. DD barely napped as an infant, let alone at 10, so the whole mid-day rest thing that would be required to do both just isn't realistic for her. I realize Easter isn't Summer, but if we could even come within reach of your accomplishments, we'd be happy campers!

Here's the best quote I've ever read about the midday break:

"What the rope drop fanatics don't seem to realize is that once all of them leave for their naps and swimming the parks are not as crowded as they think."

We don't take breaks either, except for park hopping. I'd rather let my kids stay up late than make them get up early.

If you have a few minutes, look for my "Late Night Tips" thread. There's lots of good info there.

Does anyone know if the park has ever closed because of filled to capacity? I know it has happened over Christmas. This will be our first week after Easter trip. DS's band is playing. I would like to go to MK Easter sunday later in the day so we can see the parade and firworks without having to stay all day. We will be back on Thurs that week when the band plays.

I'm pretty sure in all of my reading regarding Easter week(s), various phase closings were mentioned as probable for MK.
