In either case, DL closes early for the party. Those without tickets are going to flood to DCA and DTD for the remainder of the night. Also, Halloween day party tickets cost a little more but there is something to be said about going trick or treating in DL on Halloween. If I had the money, I'd do both

Thanks GoofyMom! Are you saying that if you had the money you'd do the party both nights?

Unfortunately we can only do one party. Our budget will allow us to purchase 3-day PHs and tickets to the party... doesnt matter which one as the price diff is relatively minimal.

But we are flexible enough to do the party either Monday or day of 10/31. The only advantage I can think of for doing it on Monday is that is our arrival day... so unless we want to get up super early, drive from a hotel near US, check in DLH, drop off bags and try to make an EE, we loss the value of early entry and being at the park early. So my thought was that we could sleep in take our time driving over, check in, hang out near the pool and DTD and head to DL around 3pm on the first night.

Any additional thoughts?

The MHP tickets are the same price for Monday 10/29 and Wed 10/31. So I'd go ahead and book Halloween night - it's got to be special! We've got tickets for 10/29, but that's just because we're flying out in the early afternoon of 10/31, so can't go then. My hope, though, is that 10/29 will be less crowded, as Halloween night will probably be popular. So that's a thought. But never having been, I don't know that for a fact; just a speculation.

The good thing about the hopper passes is that you don't have to use your 3 days back to back. So, you could on your Monday go the parks and on Halloween sleep in, go swimming, and take you time to get ready for the party. Of the two partys the one on Halloween will defiinatly be busier, but you're trick or treating in DL on Halloween:thumbsup2
