I was wondering if fitting on the rides would be a problem for me since I am plus sized (size 24), mostly would be riding rides with my girls that are one and three. I just don't want to be embarrassed, so I would rather know in advanced...

I'm in that category also. I've never had a problem with any of the Disney rides. I think I remember the Deb Willis site (wdwinfo.com) having some plus size info on rides.

I think the title of the section on allearsnet is WDW at-large, I clicked into it not knowing what it meant and was pleasantly surprised at all the attractions that would work just fine.

I have been where you are -- if being a different size interests you, the WISH (We're Inspired to Stay Healthy) section of the boards (scroll way, way down on the home page) has great threads to help and offer encouragement.

I'm still working on it, but having anonymous someones to cheer me on helps me when I feel hopeless...please don't take that as a criticism in any way (I can't cast any stones, trust me!), just pointing a new poster to a really great section.

You can easily ride everything at WDW...except the Astro Orbiters. You can squeeze in, but it will be tight.

How do I know? We were there for a week this summer and I wear anything from a 22 to a 28, depending on the cut.

A hint...on big rides that have a lap bar, have the person riding with you sit on the inside. As you sit down, pull the bar down with you. If you are like me and carry your weight around your hips, you'll be squished, but the person riding beside you will be locked in tight. I was worried about riding Big Thunder with my 7 year old, and was given this hint by another Pooh-sized mom. It worked...the bar was tight enough for me to feel safe having my son ride with me!

Oh, and if you are short like me, too, ride the inside horses on the carousel. I made the sad mistake of riding the second horse from the outside and it, of course, stopped way up in the air. I'm sure I was quite a sight trying to slide down the side of the horse...my legs weren't long enough to reach the ground!

I'm in that area as well and I don't have any problems.

Ironically, only the Pooh ride has given me some problems! :rotfl: The lap bar is very tight and I am almost always uncomfortable! I fluctuate in size as well, and can tell you that you will be fine on the rides!

Like the OP, I only had problems with the Astro Orbiters. I was only able to fit with my daughter because she is 2, had she been bigger we couldn't have fit! :)

I am a plus size mama too :) and have NO problems with the rides I am a size 24/26 I carry my weight in my chest and hips UGGGGHH Anyways some of the roller coasters at theme parks have a certain seat/row for larger people. I know the new coaster at Kings Dominion fits me fine :) I rode the ones at IOA just fine last time. Don't stress it will still be magical

Last week we were riding the Aladdin ride at MK and we wanted to all squeeze into the same seat...my husband, myself, and 17mo old son. We sat him on our laps, which then caused the fabric belt to be about an inch short. As we were fiddling with it, a cast member walked by and said they had seatbelt extenders and asked if we wanted one. It was just like the extenders on airplanes, and let us breath while still being secured.

I'm not sure about all rides with those belts, but it's nice to know they might have them for the belted rides.

I was just about to post about these. I'm not a pooh myself, but when we got on the Magic Carpet ride the extender was still on from the last ride. It was nice knowing they have things like that for everyone to enjoy the rides!
