Plus size models...PLEASEEEEE!!!

My friends dd is 16, 5'9" tall and a size 11. She just got back into modeling after taking a few years off. When she went into a very famous agency in NYC, they told her they could use her as a plus size model! Her mom thinks this is insane! they told her to lose 30 lbs if she wants to be a runway model for them, as she would need to be a size 00. She decided not to get back into modeling and went back to her school sports.

The same thing happened to me when I was a teenager, but I was even smaller. I was 5'9", weighed 125-130, and was wearing a size 6 (I truly don't think it's possible for me to be a smaller size than that, based on my bone/muscle structure). You could count every rib on my torso and my shoulders looked sharp. The agency told me I had to lose another 10 pounds to do regular modeling, or I could gain 50 to be a plus size model. My mother practically yanked me out of that place by my collar! It was then that I realized I'd never be able to model in the traditional sense. I simply could not be small enough for their standards without becoming incredibly unhealthy. :(
