I read on Disney World at Large that they have plus size shirts at WOD, does anyone know if they have shorts and other clothing as well?

Beth

It's kind of hard to find plus size clothing at that store. They have a limited ammount of plus size shirts and they usually go quick. I don't know about shorts, but they definatly have shirts.

My dh found 5x tshirts at MouseGears in Epcot. Good luck most other stores only carried up to 2x & the gift shop in Contemporary had up to 3x.

I'm gonna need a 3X, but bigger would be nice just to have some room. I hope I can find something.

That's where I think Disney really misses the boat ... there are a lot of plus size people who go to Disney and love Disney, but not much in the clothing area that fits us. I would purchase lots if I could get sizes that fit me. Hey, Mickey! are you listening?

I agree Disney is missing the boat on this. I wear a 1X and have trouble finding that sometimes too and I have often wondered why they don't carry larger sizes in more places and in more variety.

What I don't understand about the clothes (or it's just me) they seem to be cutting them a lot smaller. Was just there in November and I usually wear between a large and xlarge in sweatshirts, well I had to buy a XXlarge just to have it fit comfortably. Not that going a little bigger bothered me that much, but it did. I don't know who is making these clothes but it's really amazing. DH sometimes has to buy Xlarge in sweatshirts just so that they fit the length of his arms, then they are really big all over. They really need to make all the sizes the same normal sizes. Just my opinion.

I personally wish they would make their nightgowns a little bigger and not just "one size fits all." I could stand a use a few pounds, but I love my nightgowns big and floppy. I think they are more comfy that way :)

I have had the most luck finding plus sized clothing at MouseGears in Epcot. I have also found some at the All Stars Movies gift shop. This last trip, I did find a 3x sweatshirt at the Emporium, but it was very early in the day. I would imagine the larger sizes sell out quickly.

I agree, Disney has dropped the ball on this situation. There have been a number of items that I would have bought (jackets, sweatshirts, holiday sweater) if only they came in the plus sizes.

You can find larger than 2x at WOD. I don't know about shorts but I know shirts & sweatshirts. Especially in the "mens" section.

I have to agree on the cutting things smaller. I can normally wear an x-large in clothes, but nothing in that size fits me, and it's almost impossible to find anything bigger than that. It's very frustrating. I know there have been several shirts that I would have bought if only they had fit better.

I had seen a shirt online in part of the Vintage line that specifically said to order larger because it runs so small. I think there are so many people out there who wear their clothing so tight - regardless if it looks good. There are many more of us who prefer to be comfy without showing everything off!

There was a really cute shirt I wanted to by for my DS's girlfriend, it only came to an xlarge and that looked more like a medium. Then my DD who is 12 and wears a xsmall in ladies bought a large in a t shirt at ToT and it's really not that big on her. Pretty sad when they can't make things a "normal" size. Hopefully the will see that it's not working and change things back to "normal" sizing.

I think Disney orders their shirts from different vendors. I buy a lot of Disney t-shirts and I have to be very careful about the size. The sizes vary a lot.

My sister used to work at Pooh Corner at DTD. She said she was always being asked for larger sized t-shirts. It was frustrating for her, because they just didn't get them in stock. The customer would get irritated and there was nothing she could do about it.

If people really would like to see larger sizes carried, they need to start contacting Disney merchandising about it. As silly as it seems, the CMs who work in the shops never have any say in what will be stocked. They are not asked what should be carried. When my sister approached a manager about carrying larger sizes, she was told that it had been passed along many times, but no one in merchandise procurement paid any attention.

Just some observations from our December trip:

Early in the trip, DH saw a shirt he liked but they didn't have the size he wanted on display. He spoke with a CM who very willingly offered to go to the back room and she found what he wanted. This CM told him not to hesitate to do this in any of the stores...we found want we wanted a couple of times this trip by asking CMs to check in back.

I've seen more XXL and XXXL items on display over the last two trips, but those did seem to be more "gender neutral" items, not specifically women's. I also noticed, as others have said, that you really have to look item by item to figure out what size to buy; one family member takes a women's XS but can sometimes wear size S from WDW, depending on the cut.

Add me to the "Disney Has missed the Boat" gang...

I have LOTS of $$$$ to spend at Disney but they don't get it all because they don't carry any of my sizes in anything I would like...

I could get a 3x or 4x t-shirt but it would be huge everywhere but tight on the hips because it's unisex...I hate that. If they opened a Plus size store, I could see me dropping $500 to $700 every trip because I love Disney clothing and I can wear it at work to because I am the BOSS...

Well, I guess Lane Bryant will get my $$$ instead of WDW... :confused3

The thing that most irritates me is that the sizing isn't consistent even among designs. I can buy 2 different XXL t-shirts, and one will fit perfect and the other will be tight! I guess, like Peg said, it's because they come from different vendors. I'll be looking for some good, big, comfy feminine tees this year and I hope I find them... :teeth:

I agree they need to stock more in the larger sizes. My boyfriend hates tight t-shirts so in every store we are always digging through the piles and racks of shirts to find the bigger sizes. It seems like some shirts only go up to XL or 2XL and only a few designs will be in the bigger sizes. Its sad that he can't buy the shirts he wants a lot of times.

I also agree about inconsistancy in sizing. I'm around 130 pounds and buy a L or XL in most t-shirts at WDW. I bought a hooded sweatshirt at once in a Medium and it was HUGE- like a long dress on me!

Disney would make so much $$ if they made more shirts in the larger sizes.

I have a red Mickey nightshirt that was bought in the World by a friend as a gift for me. It is 16 years old and big and floppy -- and I am Pooh sized. pooh: I could honestly put two or more of me in it. I was actually talking this morning about how I keep looking and looking for another one like it. It is my favorite and as you can well imagine, Mikey has faded.

I rarely find plus size items. Every once in a while I find a XL ladies that will fit, but I agree that most of their stuff is cut small. I prefer to shop at WoD as I usually have a 10% discount from AAA and every penny counts! But, I would shop elsewhere if they had clothes that fit me.
