Pleasure Island for 19 year olds

Can my 19 yearold son and nephew get into any of the clubs at Pleasure Island without an accompanying adult? The tour books give different answers.

I believe they can get into most of them. They won't get the 21 stamp/wristband of course. There is one club I'm not sure of, I think it's Mannequins (sp?) - they sometimes have age restricted nights, but I can't remember if it's 18 or 21.

Can someone back me up on this? I've made it as clear as mud.

With the Patriot Act, fake IDs aren't a good idea, even if they are using them only to gain admission to the clubs.

I thought I read some place that having them and/or making them was a Federal offense these days -- but I'm not sure.

Better to just "be your real age".

I dont think that is true at all. Who even uses fake id's now?? Im 18 and i dont know a single person who has one. I dont know how old you are, but dont just assume the young are a bunch of rebellious heathens.

well since i am 18 and are going in Dec. I would like to know as an 18 year old what clubs are available for me? Any dancing clubs?

Yeah, that fake ID comment was a bit judgmental. I'm 21 now, and I have never had a fake ID, and neither have the vast majority of my friends. In fact, I can only think of one or two people I know who did. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of the clubs are open to 18 year olds, and at least one of them (totally blanking on the name though) is your standard dance club. The others mostly had themes (retro, comedy, etc...).

Motion is a good club for anyone under 21. it plays top 40 hits and is a typical R&B dance club. Manniquines is 21 and up and plays trance and house music.

Mannequins is 21+ thurs - sat. Otherwise it is 18+ only on other nights.
BET is 21+ Fri & Sat. 18+ unless they are with a 21+ all other nights
Motion is 18+ only.

Rest of the clubs are 18+ unless they are accompanied by someone 21+

Fake ID's - yeah, they still exist. Most of them now aren't "fake" but more-so false. They get them from older siblings or friends, so it's just not them on the ID. Others are altered, or just printed off the computer. I've seen all sorta of fake ID's at PI.

...and yes, it is a felony in the state of Florida to possess, or attempt to pass a fake ID.

Thanks to everyone who replied, but I still am not completely sure if my main question was answered. Can kids that are 19 get in the 18+ clubs without having someone over 21 with them? I'm pretty sure my 19 yr old son would rather lick a razor blade than have me go clubbing with him.

Just make sure if you are over 21 you bring a backup... Each time I have gone I have been asked for a backup, which i didnt' think to bring, therefore denied entry

Yes, a 19-year-old can get into an 18+ club all by their little-own-selves. (They are 18+. Over 18 is over 18.) They just can't get into the 21+.

And si, Got Quattro, you're showing your age. Kids these days borrow IDs from older people who look a little like them. I'm sure fake IDs still exist, but they'd be so much harder to make that you'd have to pay a fortune for them, or know someone at the DMV who liked you a lot.
