Pleasure Island access Question

Last Year when we went at the end of June with our kids. We we able to get into pleasure Island and walk around lets say around 8:00pm without tickets as long as we were not going into the dance or drink clubs. As I remember the ticket turnstiles were not even running. Does any one know if this is still the case?
