Some of you may remember Reid ... preventing me ... from opening my SS parcel ... NOW that he HAS to moderate me ... what should I expect ?

Can I still send BACIONI ( Italian kisses ) to Elaine and Becky ... or would that be unappropriate NOW ???

Of course you can Laura!!! As I said before, (and speaking for myself) we're mainly going to make sure that the stickies are kept upto date. Apart from that nothing's really changed!!!!

I too would like to extend my congrats to Becky, Elaine and Reid, who I'm sure will all do a great job.

I can't however let this announcement pass without expressing my disappointment (and I hope you all know that this is not just because of the family connection) that diberry was not chosen as a moderator.

What does someone have to do to be appreciated round here - birthday list, Secret Santa, Christmas cards to name a few things, as well as answering a lot of questions and just being generally helpful to fellow members. Also some of you may also remember that way back before Karen was moderator, it was diberry who said we needed more visible moderators, which led to Karen volunteering to be moderator which was highly successful.

Becky, Elaine and Reid - please don't get me wrong, I'm sure you'll all do a great job and taking diberry out of the equation I really feel you are the best for the job and I'm glad that we have got moderators who are active on the board and know people on here, but I just can't see how diberry has been overlooked. There was a thread on here a few weeks ago where lots of you commented that diberry should be moderator for all she's done.

Those of you who frequent the UK community board may have seen that when the new mods were announced there, Cath (Scottish Maleficent) left the boards on the basis of the choice of mods, as she felt she'd been unfairly overlooked. At the time I felt she was possibly over-reacting (although I didn't know a lot about the situation) but now I can understand as this has totally taken the gloss off the DIS for me - I've lost faith in it a bit when someone isn't recognised for all they do to make the board a fun place. But thank you to the solitary person who PMed diberry to say she was the obvious choice and that she should have been chosen, and also Becky for letting her know in advance so she didnt find out about this on the board.

Anyway, rant over, once again Becky, Elaine and Reid - well done on your appointments.

Good job guys, i have to say this is the most friendly board i've ever used and all the entries have definetey cheered me up in times of revision sadness.

I have to say that I thought Di would have been a MOD as well, I thought maybe she'd turned it down. The day the MODs disappeared I nicknamed Di (MO)Di due to her being such an obvious choice.

Bexx, Elaine and Reid as equally obvious choices too and will no doubt do an awesome job, or just carry on being awesome to be more precise!

I have to say that I thought Di would have been a MOD as well, I thought maybe she'd turned it down.

I also was thinking that perhaps Di was asked to be our moderator , but , being such a clever girl , she had thought it's better to post here when you like ... instead of HAVING to post as Mod (and maybe having to "moderate" instead of just having fun ).

Surely Di is a marvellous person and all of us love her !!!! and are sure she'll keep on being for all of us THE MOST WONDERFUL FRIEND EVER !!!!

I too presumed Di must have turned this position down, Can't we have 4 mods, I don't in anyway want to detract from Becky, Reid and Elaines appointments - which are absolutely great honestly I am thrilled, for them and us- but it would just be even better if Di was also raised to your elevated position!! Please , please , please don't anybody take offence at that now - it has taken all my courage and a little more to post this......I just feel she has done so much for this little band

This has to be very quick as I have 5 minutes to chuck some dinner down my throat before heading out to the pub, but you can imagine my surprise to come back from the gym to find several PMs from people on here, and luckily none of you hate me!! I will show my Mum the PMs if that's okay with you all as I know she will be extremely touhed by your support for her, especially the person who has taken the trouble to PM WebmasterAlex about it. I will reply to you all when I get back from the pub!!

Unfortunately it doesn't change my feelings becuase it wasn't the people on here I had a problem with, but still it's nice to know you care enough to take the time to let us know!
