I'm oficially crazy :confused3 , we usually stay deluxe (love Poly) but are trying a mod to save $$$ this trip. I 've changed resorts 4 times :rolleyes1 and have driven DH nuts. Our trip is in October and it will be me, DH, DD8 and DS4.

First I booked WL and then switched to POFQ to save $$$ then switched back to WL because I didn't like the theme of POFQ that much in pics. Then I subscribed to the CSR thread and switched to there to save $$$. that is where we are currently booked. Loved the idea of central A/C units and upgraded amenities. The pool looks awesome but not sure if I like the idea of the Pepper market much. Also I know they are starting refurbs on the rooms while we are there.

Now today I looked at CBR pics and the resort looks pretty but much bigger than CSR, The pluses would be I could book preferred and be close to everything. Also the new pool will be open. Possibly they will have some newly refurbed rooms too which appeals to me. Not sure if they are redoing the bathrooms, carpet, or getting new matresses. Minuses would be 7 bus stops and the reviews about housekeeping are really bad.

Sorry to be so wishy washy. I never have this problem when Im booked at Poly because we love it there. If any of you have stayed at both resorts which was your favorite? What do you think will be the better choice for us.
Thanks a bunch,
Nichole

I picked CBR. As I type this, its in the lead above CSR. That will change shortly, CSR has a huge fan base on the dis and once they find this thread, CSR will likely pull way ahead.

I have stayed at both and prefer CBR. For me I like the double sinks in the CBR bathrooms, the rooms are a tad larger and I enjoyed being able to see the high up fireworks of Epcot from around the resort. Above all, I love the tropical theming, the lush landscaping and pretty villages of buildings. We had great bus service for our nine nights. Next to the DVC resorts, I love CBR best, in fact I prefer it a tad over the Poly if you can believe that! Probably because its half the room rate! I just love tropical theming so resorts like CBR and the Poly are my favorites. CSR is more of a desert southwest theme. Very pretty as well. I think both CSR and CBR are spread out. But as you say, CBR is the only mod where you can get that preferred location. I also love the fact CBR has seven pools total, its quiet pools are the largest I have seen.

CSR is also wonderful, it has a great main pool (no idea how CBR's new pool will stack up but based on the photos Safetymom posted recently, it looks like it will be pretty cool). CSR has four bus stops and its busses are often not crowded because so many of its guests are there for conventions, not the parks. Its a lovely resort as well.

I think the room refurb is more about new bedspreads, curtains and wall paper border. CBR had a pretty recent room refurb where all the rooms got new mattresses, I guess its possible they are replacing them again, but I doubt it.

Never had any problems with mousekeeping at CBR or CSR. If you have been looking at Tripadivsor for reviews, all WDW resorts from the GF to the All Stars get trashed on that website. A negative review is much more likely to get posted than a positive one.

The rooms at CBR are being refurbed now. New beds, probably not the mattress since they are relatively new. New drapes, border in the room, new tv and chest of drawers. Add in the new pool complex and CBR is going to be a very popular place to stay.

We've only stayed at the CSR (soon to be 7th time), but we have visited all of the moderates--walked the grounds, dined in the food courts, etc. If we chose a second moderate POFQ would be it because of it's themeing and compact size. That being said, we don't like the POR or the CAR--don't like the themeing and we thought the food court at the CAR was not good (we were there at 1:00 in the afternoon and only two stations were open and hte burgers were terrible...give me McDonald's!). We love the Pepper Market, but then again we are used to it after six visits (after the first time, we easily grasped the hang of it) and we like taking our food and sitting out by the lake to eat it. We love the quiet pools, the hot tub, the Siesta Bar/main pool and the spa/fitness center.

In the long run, you need to go with the theme you like and what you think you will enjoy the most. That is why Disney has so many choices...everyone has their own preference.

I am one of those CSR fan bois.:lovestruc

You want to keep CSR because if you someone who normally stays at a deluxe then you will find the CSR to be closest to that deluxe feel. The CS at CSR is the best value on property, don't let it's methods frighten you. Thousands of guests have managed to eat at the Pepper Market and survived it. It's just different and you have to remember that going in. It's CS with a twist. As far as preferred location, CSR is no where near the size of CBR. As long as you aren't in Ranchos, you are in a preferred location. Even in a preferred location, Port Royal at the CBR is FAR.

I wouldn't worry about CSR's remodel. You probably won't even know it's going on.

However, I think the split stay is a good idea for you. Do CSR and Poly.

CSR!! Great main pool area, terrific transportation and awesome food choices. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

CSR! We love the main pool area and the transportation is some of the best we've experienced. The atmosphere and CM's are great too!

CSR!! I love CSR for the atmosphere, great CM's and the deluxe-lite feel. CSR offers a spa, salon, full menu room service and fitness center not to mention a terrific main pool area and the best transportation that is not shared with any other resort.

CBR by a mile.

CSR is way more spread out. We were in the furthest room possible at CBR and the walk was 1/2 of what it was at CSR and we were in the Casitas, I believe it was.

At CBR - The theming is better, the busses were better, the atmosphere was better.

We hated the Pepper Market at CSR. Really yuck food and the waiting in 3 different lines for 3 meals really stunk.

My family is staying at the CBR this Oct 2nd-8th. I've stayed at the CBR years ago, but really didn't do much at the resort to form an intelligent opinion.

Now that i'll be there with my wife, son and mother, i'm really looking forward to experiencing the resort! All the photos we've seen (on here and other sites) make the CBR look beautiful!

In recent trips we've stayed at the All Star Movies, Sports, Port Orlean's FQ, Pop Century & All Star Music! So this will be the second stay at a moderate!

If anyone has any insider tips or "must do's" at the resort pls let us know!

We love CBR, I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Its my kids' favorite mod and with the new pool that will be open for your stay, I am sure you'll have a great time!

Never had a problem with CBR housekeeping, always **** and span (maybe my tips help?).

Never been to either, but all the support and positive mentions from KatMark and Buzz2001 made me choose CSR for the honeymoon. It cost me an extra £20.00 (oooh, nearly $40.00!) for the whole 11 night trip over a stay at CBR, so I hope to discover that it was money well spent!
