Hi guys ...
I have a question regarding in room internet access and I am SO not a math guy ... so type slowly! :)

Someone had written recently how you can sort of get two days of access for the price of one by logging on and off in a particular way.
Can someone break it down for me? My brain just doesn't work that way. :confused3 I know they say it's about $10 for 24 contiguous hours.
I'm looking forward to being online, but I don't want to go broke (we'll be there for 2 weeks).
Thanks for any help!

Dave

It's more like 2 different dates. For example if you logged in today 7/12 at 4:00 pm that's one day. You can log back on on Friday 7/13 at noon (or any time before 4:00 pm) and it would still be the same $10.00 bucks. So technically you're on line 2 days Thursday 7/12 and Friday 7/13.

OK ... thanks ... now I don't feel quite so dumb! :goodvibes
That's what I was thinking ...
Thanks for the response!

We got back from WDW last month, and Eliza is correct - it's 24 hours from when you first log on.

Don't know if you're planning to head over to Universal and stay onsite there, but their internet policies are different - it's $9.95 per calendar day. So if you logon at 9pm on July 12 and then again at 9am July 13, you'll be paying $9.95 for EACH day. We found this out the hard way.

And I don't know if something got messed up on our bill or not, but WDW did NOT add taxes to the $9.95 internet charge, but the Hard Rock at Universal DID add taxes. Go figure. Maybe they're in different counties or something?

And then if you log on again some time on the 14th, you have the next 24 hours (14-15) for the one day charge - so, technically, you have internet access on four different calendar days but only pay for two!

Another option - dial-up. You pay seventy-five cents per call and, as far as I know, can remain connected for hours for that one charge.

Yes, we have used dial up. It is much more affordable. A bit slower, but well worth it. Especially if you are going to be there for such a long trip.

Last but not least Dave, I just heard some of the areas in the Broadwalk and the Yacht and Beach club common areas have Wi-fi. If you're lap top is wi fi accessable I think you can sit in the common areas and surf. I'm trying to find out the exact details.

Oopps, found the link. Here's the wi-fi information.

The WIFI piece is still charged. It is NOT free.

I can confirm the 24 hours for in room service..

We logged in at 3pm on Thursday. We used it for the rest of the day on Thursday and then again on Friday till 3pm when we stopped the the service.

Total cost : 9.95.

If you have a cellular phone account that offers internet connection and have a laptop that has the appropriate hardware you can do that too.
