Please tell me who has sweet tea?

Another southern gal born and raised on sweet tea. Mickey D's sweet tea rocks. We drink it a lot in the summer, but now I put Splenda in it, or half sugar and half Splenda. Still just as good but less calories. What I don't get is the lemon in the tea. I was the only one in my family that didn't put lemon in their tea. If I want lemon, I'll drink lemonade. When I drink tea, I want it to taste like tea.

I'm with ya! Never understood the allure of putting lemon in your iced tea. Blech!

I personally think Mickey D's has the BEST sweet tea! And it's only $1 for a big 32 oz. cup...can't beat that!

Yep, you would be going right by us if you take I-24 to WDW!

My husband has considered working for TVA (he's an electrical engineer), but for right now he's working on the air force base in Manchester. He's thinking of applying to TVA when he (hopefully) gets his PE license in a year or so. :thumbsup2

I didn't realize Cosmic Rays had sweet tea. Good to know!

My DH was in the US Navy for 8 years (Nuclear Electrician). I am sending you lots of pixiedust: for the future!!

I love sweet tea too and have never been offered it when I order tea. I didn't know it existed at WDW. Glad to know where I can find it. We go to Columbia HH every trip and I never had it there, but I guess I should ask more.

I have a handy little list from when others have mentioned sweet tea, and I have that at some time Pizzafari had it too. I don't know how long ago that was, or if it's still there though.

We're right by I-24 too, in Murfreesboro. DH's brother lives in Manchester.

Who would have thunk that sweet tea would become a hot topic on a Disney board?

A while back, I started this same thread because I was addicted to sweet tea. (Note the "was" because I have weaned myself off of it - I was serioulsy getting sweet tea headaches if I didn't get any that day!)

I liked to get my sweet tea from CS so I can enjoy while walking around the parks. Here's my list-
MK - Cosmic Ray's
Epcot - the McDonald's stand in front of the lagoon by Canada
AK - Pizzafari
DHS - ???, I don't do CS there.

The last time I was at Cosmic Ray's, I asked them why they were the only ones that had Gold Peak sweet tea (made by Coca Cola), and the main food guy for MK was there. The worker sent him over to me because I had a question. I asked him about the sweet tea issue in WDW. And he said that right now (which was a couple of months ago), a few select places in each park were test marketing the sweet tea for Coca Cola. And until Coca Cola decides to take it full steam, it can only be available at those locations. I told him that it's the best sweet tea, and I don't understand why they don't make it available everywhere. I asked if it wasn't doing good at WDW. And he said, no actually it's doing really good, and they keep asking Coca Cola if they can make it available park wide. But Coke still hasn't given the okay. :confused3 So make sure if you taste the Gold Peak sweet tea, and like it, let it be known with TPTB!

Enjoy your sweet tea everyone - while I drink my water. :worried:

Attention all you sweet tea rookies: Tea that is in the same fountain as the cokes, etc. is not the same. (Ex. Brisk) In order to be sweet tea, it must be freshly brewed and in the steel dispensers similar to coffee.

Just let me add my condolences to all of you who didn't grow up on the stuff. It must be tough knowing you have been neglected this way:rotfl:

Mmmmm... just made some. It's in the 'fridge! :goodvibes

DH always complains that FL is in the "south" but we can never find it at WDW.

I just made a fresh batch and I'm having a glass right now. Ahhhhhhhhhhh! That tastes good. :drinking1

Thank you so much everyone for posting where you got sweet tea. I'm going to be getting it everyday on my trip...I love sweet tea!!!

Isn't it funny that everyone who knows where the sweet tea was is from the south? That was always the first question my DH asked at every restaurant we went to. Guess it's a southern thang.

I'm from up north and have had sweet tea since I was a kid. It is just hard to find up here without making it yourself until McD's came out with it.

Oh lord, people after my own heart! I'm a southern girl, spent my childhood in Georgia and adolescents/adulthood in Texas. Let my last moment on earth be spent on a sleeping porch with a tin roof in a rainstorm with a pitcher of TRUE sweet tea and I will go with a smile on my face!

Back to reality now...I know it's at Garden Grill. I actually made some in my coffee pot at the hotel and brought it with me into to parks. I didn't trust the CS to have any decent. Glad to know CHH has some, though!

OMG, I can't get enough of it. Then McD's had to come out with it. DFI and I gave it up for Lent. That was a long time.

I love sweet tea. I am a native Jersey girl, but family roots are all over the South. Last week I was at Harbour House, and a lady was complaining to one of the servers that the sweet tea was too sweet. Dah, hence the reason it is called "sweet tea." :rolleyes1 This is why you order unsweetened, and add the sugar you want. I really got a laugh out of that one.
