Please tell me who has sweet tea?

Looks like I'm going to overdose on the stuff at Garden Grill. That's the only place that was mentioned that we plan on eating at.

Yep, us too. I never order tea at WDW, but will be doing so at Garden Grill. Someone mentioned that WGP had sweet tea? The last time I ate at Wolfgang Puck's (Sept '07) that tea was NOT 'sweet tea'.

Another southern gal born and raised on sweet tea. Mickey D's sweet tea rocks. We drink it a lot in the summer, but now I put Splenda in it, or half sugar and half Splenda. Still just as good but less calories. What I don't get is the lemon in the tea. I was the only one in my family that didn't put lemon in their tea. If I want lemon, I'll drink lemonade. When I drink tea, I want it to taste like tea.

Want to know the quickest way to make tea at home. Put 2 family size tea bags in a 2-cup glass measuring cup and fill it with water. Put in the microwave for 4 minutes and then leave it in the microwave another 5 minutes. When done, pour into a 2 quart container and add 1 cup of sugar(more or less to taste) to hot tea. Stir. Add a little more water and then finish filling the container with ice. Stir until ice is melted. Tada!! Sweet Iced tea in ten minutes.

I know that we have gotten sweet tea at Rainforest cafe. Then we also had sweet tea at the restaurant at Fort Wilderness.

On property, we've had sweet tea at Rainforest Cafe. Everywhere else we've eaten, we've had to add the sugar ourselves (not so great since it doesn't dissolve properly). All the McDonald's have it though. We frequented the one outside of DTD almost every night after the parks closed for that reason alone. ::yes::

I moved from San Diego, Ca to a small town along the TN border in KY almost 13 years ago (my DH is TN born-bred) and they ALL drank swaaaaat teaaaaa
"sweet tea" (with a long drawn out accent)....I was like, WHA???!

In CA we called it ICED TEA sweetened or unsweetened

Here in KY/TN it's SWEET or UNSWEET TEA and hardly anyone drinks it unsweet...at Granny's house you'd BETTER just drink it sweet!!! ::yes:: I have even seen some put the stuff in the babies bottles and I AM NOT KIDDING....OKAY I admit, I have put some in my sons sippy cup as well but what can I do about it, he LOVES it???!! :confused3

I have found no difference in Iced Tea vs Sweet Tea other than here in the south some like to add the WHOLE bag of sugar to one gallon! :lmao: Authentic southern sweet tea is made with the good ol' southern staple: sugar....NOT syrup.

Another good ol' southern staple is butter but dont get me started on that.......:rotfl:

Glad to know Disney caters to the southerners!!! :dance3:

Um, I'm almost embarrassed to reveal this, but Victoria and Albert's has sweet tea too. We were in withdrawal, okay? The waiter didn't look at us weird, and neither should you! :lmao:

As of the first week in April there was a container of sweet...I know because I filled my glass with it by accident and it is way too sweet for me....

Us "yankees" know nothing bout sweet tea. When you go to a restaurent you are offered sweetened (bleck) or unsweetened. The unsweetened never properly dissolves and I find myself adding many packets of sugar to get it how I like it. When I went to Myrtle Beach I had everyone turned on to it and I am happy to hear that I can get it at Disney.

Well I hope you're speaking soley for yourself, cause I know all about sweet tea, goes back to when I was a child and it's always readily available in my house ;) Glad you like it though. Walmart sells an Mr. Coffee ice tea maker for about $20 or less. It works great! Glad this thread was started too cause my mom will go thru withdrawal w/o it. When we were in Alaska at the end of April this year my mom kept asking for sweet tea everywhere we went and she always got the same reply "Sorry honey we don't have that up here". Needless to say she was glad to come home a have a nice cold glass of homemade sweetened tea :lovestruc Also I do believe sweet and Iced tea are the same thing. Mostly because it's almost never made without the sugar.

You may not see sweet tea or even iced tea on some menus so you should just ask. They had it at the Olive Garden near Crossroads last Sunday.

I believe the person who mentioned syrup was talking about simple syrup - sugar and water boiled together. Which in my humble opinion works better than just adding granulated sugar to the boiling tea. I've never heard of actual syrup being used, lol!!

Okay, I see what your saying.:thumbsup2

We normally boil water w/ tea bags, add sugar to the hot water (after boiling), put in pitcher, then add more water to fill. I have never heard of the simple syrup method, will have to try it.

I know some of the restaurants here (O'Charleys) have started flavoring unsweet tea with raspberry syrups and different fruit flavored syrups but they dont call it sweet tea, just raspberry tea or etc.

We love us some sweet tea!! :drinking1

LadyOmega...where abouts in TN do you live? My DH was born in Portland and works in Nashville. :)

We currently live in Manchester.....yes, home of the 'Roo, lol. (That's the Bonnaroo Music Festival, for those who don't know.) We're about an hour-hour and a half southeast of the Nashville metro.

I'm not sure where Portland is, seems like I've heard of it though.

Okay, your right along I24. Seems like I remember seeing the traffic backed up on I24 during the Roo Festival on News channel 5. That festival has put Manchester ON THE MAP!! :thumbsup2

Portland is about 45 minutes n/e of Nashville. Hubby works for the good ol Tva so he has traveled all over TN...and AL/MS/KY. I guess we go past Manchester on our way to Chattanooga and also DISNEY...Whoo HOO!!!! :mickeyjum

We saw sweet tea at Cosmic Rays as well and last year at F&W the Oklahoma booth had great sweet tea, I think we got one everyday!!!! I just hope the Louisiana Booth has it this year, it is not the south without it.

I have a two year old who lives on sweet tea i am going to write all of these places in my book. thanks so much stephanie

Yep, you would be going right by us if you take I-24 to WDW!

My husband has considered working for TVA (he's an electrical engineer), but for right now he's working on the air force base in Manchester. He's thinking of applying to TVA when he (hopefully) gets his PE license in a year or so. :thumbsup2

I didn't realize Cosmic Rays had sweet tea. Good to know!
