Hello

Wanted to ask your opinion on our upcoming trip....I know that you guys can help me decide on what to do...

Ok I had the pin for 40% off....We booked December 7 to 17th added dining and tickets...

We are booked at the Beach Club standard view room..We loved the BC during our last trip in September but want to make sure that it will be great in December..

My question is that I have been looking around and saw that we can get the Poly for 9 dollars more a night and the Contemp for less...

We have stayed at the Poly and loved it never stayed at the Contemp...

We have 2 children who will be 6 and 4....They loved BC but I am concerned about if we will be able to use the pool like we did in September....

PLEASE HELP ME WITH YOUR OPINION.....I will be TRULY GREATFUL:worship:

It can get really cold in December. If the pool is the deciding factor, then I'd switch to either the Poly or the CR.

It can be great but not pool weather in December. I love being on the monorail with small children. The pool at BC is great but you have more pool time during warmer months. You may not even have any pool time during December. I don't know if there is a hot tub at the Cont. I know there is not one at the Poly. Make sure you bring a warm cover up and you may get some pool time in the evening. The pools are heated. Good Luck with your decision.

I too have a 4 and 6 yo and there is nothing like the convenience of a monorail resort for that age. We have stayed at all of the monorail resorts as well as BC and although we love BC, would definitely pick POLY or CR over it, especially for the time of year you are going. I'd say, save the money and choose CR - kids love the monorail going through the building or the POLY for $9 which is my absolute favorite resort!

Enjoy!

I'd opt for one of the monorail resorts in Dec.. It is just a bit on the chilly side for us to go swimming and you will love having the convience of the monorail right there, especially with kids.

Ultimately the decision you make you can't go wrong you'll be in Disney.I still don't understand why being on the monorail is a life saver.Really all it saves is when you do MK.What happens when visiting all the other parks.Being a father of 2 little DD's we have found that the BC is better centrally located to all.You have 2 parks at your fingertips plus the best pool on the property.BTY...we were at the BC for xmas (21-28) and there was nothing better than being in the pool with my DD's on xmas day after being at the park.We actually used the pool 4 times. My DD's didn't want to get out everytime we had to go in and get ready for dinner.I don't know maybe its because were from the northeast but the weather was fine for going in the pool (don't get me wrong it wasn't 90 and HOT).Never having stayed at the Poly.....for the little more $$ they want I would consider it.Whichever you choose have a great time. :woohoo:

We usually go in Dec. or Jan. You can have warm days and REALLY cold days. We would wear shorts one day and mittens, gloves, and hats the next day. Wherever you decide to stay, look at the forecast before you leave to decide what day(s) will be the warmest, and plan your pool days for those days. Plan the warmest part of the day as your scheduled swimming time. Most likely 1-4pm.

For your dates (we're going around the same time), the last I heard a couple of days ago when I called is that the only rooms left that can be booked using the 40% code are at the BC, YC, and the BW.

The only thing I can really say is that we were there that week last year and the weather was in the 80s every single day, the lows were in the high 60s to low 70s. I didn't pack shorts (short sleeves, but not shorts) or bathing suites. I went to the mall to try and find shorts and my kids hated me for not buying the bathing suits. Weather is hit or miss.

I'd go Contemporary all the way!!!! I thought the smaller pool was heated...atleast it sure felt that way...would not hesitate at all with kids those ages, we walked to MK and it was GREAT!!!! Please you won't be disappointed! I've stayed at CR, Poly, OKW, AKL...I think it's always worth it to stay at a new resort, they each have their specialness about them! :)

Hi

Thank you all for your answers...Yes the last day to book was 3/31...I can change the resort just not the dates....

When I called last night I was told that they opening at the ones that I was thinking about...

CR garden or tower? If garden wing, I would go with Poly or stick with the BC. Let us know which you decide on. They all sound great to me.

Thank you everyone...My kids want the beach club....Has anyone been there in December and swam at the BC just wondering if you can tell that it is heated...:confused3
We are from Philly so it might seem warm to us...We were at the Poly in Feb before and only swam one time..They had record lows and record high all in the same day...

Can you educate a semi- newbie/ idiot? Please explain the pin discount. What is it? How do you get it? etc.

you either get it in the mail or email or can call and see if you have a pin linked to your account:worship:

g3pak: Hi and welcome!

You're NOT a semi-idiot. All this stuff is a language in and of itself!

The PIN codes are sent by Disney; no one is really sure how they determine who gets one. Some things that may help your odds are ordering the trip planning DVD and/or going to the reservations site to price out your options. Either one at least lets Disney know that you would like to be considered.

Another way to get some nice savings is to join AAA (or CAA if you're Canadian.) You can get anywhere from 10-20% off the price of your accomodations that way.

I started this thread for other first-timers-- it may help you get the lay of the land: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1715551

I'd say try CR. I like to try a new resort each time and I think CR would be perfect in December. BC is great, but probably won't get to even use the pool (much) and if that's the only reason you want to go there, I'd much rather have the monorail (in December anyway).
