Please tell me it's not completely foolish

Just 2 weeks ago we took our 4 yr old and 8 mo. sons. The baby was easier to care for than the older guy - no opinions, no bad moods, etc. We all had a good time and I'd do it again.

My big concern was the stroller set up - my big guy still likes to ride in one, and it was easier/safer/faster to get around the parks. I wound up buying a Maclaren Quest umbrella stroller for the big guy and brought our big Graco travel system stroller for the baby - more comfortable since he'd spend the most time in it. It worked out fine. They both napped in the strollers, but I'd definitiely try to fit in some mid-day down time at the hotel. The hotel loans you a crib and refridgerator and we checked a carseat and booster seat (inside a suitcase) at the airport. We rented a car cuz we had to make a big grocery stop and it was easier for getting to/from the parks.

Don't worry about it...start making your packing list now, even a grocery list for when you get down there, and you'll all have a great time!

We took our dd when she was 8 months old.
Before we had her we looked at parents with children & thought I wouldn't want to be doing that , then we had DD & took her 3 times while very young ( potty trained her thru disney)
Loved every second of taking her as a baby,It just isn't the same trip as when it was before DD. A bit slower & had to take the time to stop & rest & let her nap ect...
Now dd is 16 & won't go to disney , Dh & I are back to looking at parents with babies & think boy I'm glad thats not me!
But I wouldn't have traded a second of when it was my time with my baby at disney :flower: , so go & enjoy. It is always a memory in the making.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU guys!! I feel sooooo much better!!

We're going NOV 30 - Dec 5th so hopefully it wont be a mad house like the summers.

You guys rock! pirate:

No time to read through the other replies but my experience has been that it was fine. Just get a nice sturdy backpack for the baby. We went last year with a 4, 2, and 10 month old. We spent from 9-9 in MK with no problems. We put baby in the backpak and he did great. Almost all of the rides (obviously not coasters ) he stayed in the backpack on my husbands back, or we popped him out and held him. The zippy rides we just used the switching off option. I found this age to be easy because when he was tired he just crashed out in the backpak. We went again this year with 5, 3 and 21 months and it was just as fun (except now dear "baby" has an opinion!!)

HAVE FUN!!! :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Don't worry, just go!!!! My youngest niece was only 2 months for her first trip to the World. And my sister was breast-feeding!! You need to have the mind-set that you will not see everything and that it is ok to go back to the hotel for naps. Have fun! :sunny:

I took both my babies, at 4 months and one at nine months. My daughter loved the rides and stared in awe at everything. It was a wonderful trip. (She was 9 months.) My son screamed on all the rides and we should have just planned on strolling and playing in playgrounds.

If you go with the right attitude, you should be fine. You will not be able to commando tour. You need to plan for a midday break. You need to plan for rest periods and "melt downs".

We took our seven month old. It was so wonderful. She was entranced by all the commotion. She even loved the rides.

We got a baby backpack and it was a huge blessing. We had an instant highchair/seat for her. At the parades, we just plopped down the backpack (it stood up on it's own), on rides, we just took it off and set it beside us. Was really nice. I got it from walmart online, that baby snugli one. Definately recommend it. I have all the neighborhood ladies hooked on them now! Ours even had an attached diaper bag and cooler bag. Didn't have to worry about carting anything around, it was all in the backpack which set nicely on my back. I was able to cart around a 25lb baby with no problem. She even slept in it.

My dd also loved the fireworks shows, we waited til the last night to go out at night and I wish we hadn't. She loved it and so did my other two children - wish we hadn't waited til the last night to discover that!

Well I didnt read everyones post but I did it and everyone in my family thought I was insane!!! We had a blast, my first DD(4) went when she was 9 months old and has been there about 8 times. My Second DD(19 months) went when she was 3 1/2 months old, that trip wasnt planned but we had a good time, make sure you have a good comfortable stroller and take advantage of going back to your room for a break, also A must when going with an infant is the baby care centers, they are great and make the trip so much more comfortable especially when breastfeeding and changing diapers!!!!
Have fun now and enjoy it, before they get older and tell you what rides they want to go on, and what rides not to go on,lol.....
Have fun!!! ::MinnieMo

You will have a blast. We did take breaks at our resort during the afternoons.

My daughter was 11 months old on our trip. She saw a commercial for Epcot at about 4 years old. She asked if that was the place with the invisible man that talked and the little white lights in the sky. Don't tell me kids that age can't remember good experiences! :goodvibes

Have a great time.

P.S. That was a our last trip with my late father. It is a precious memory.

Been taking my children since 18 mo old. Slightly different but I still think you will have a wonderful time. I've seen happy families with newborn babies and they are having the time of their life. I hope you have a wonderful trip!
