i am not a DVC member but will be renting points for the first time. my resort choice was to stay at the Boardwalk in a preferred studio. After finding out that the DVC owner had the same dates available for the Beach Club Villas, i decided to switch. Last night i spent 2 hours reading posts regarding a thermostat problem at the BCV. this scared me, and now i went back to my original choice to stay at BWV. i hope i did the right thing by switching. i would appreciate some input from anyone who has stayed at both. Thanks.

I LOVE BCV!!!

I have a heat problem - I sometimes get hot in the middle of the night - but I had no problem with the BCV. Of course when we first arrived - the air conditioner was very noisy and the engineers spend about 3 hours fixing it - so I am not sure what they did - but as I say I had no problems!!!

I love going to sleep looking out on Spaceship Earth and waking up to see it --- wonderful!

My problem requires me to sleep with only a sheet on the bed and I do move alot in my sleep - so that might be why we didn't have a problem - the motion detectors probably was on the whole time.

forgot - BWV are great if you can get the BW view - otherwise you will probably get the main pool view and I don't happen to like it - standard view is just fine! I got the BW view once but got the main pool view 5 times before I gave up and now I only request standard views.

We stayed in a studio last November. We had no problems with the thermostat! (And I hate being hot!!) What I have found is when you return to your room, it tends to be warm but once you reset the thermostat it cools down quickly.

Never had a problem in the middle of the night.......I guess I walk my butt off so much during the day, I just collapse into Disney Dreamland!!!

We loved BCV. We just returned a couple weeks ago. The pool was wonderful (Storm Along Bay), and I fell in love with "Beaches & Cream". I think you will be very happy. We can't wait to go back!

We have stayed twice at both resorts. We had no problem with the heating/air conditioning at BCV. Both are excellent but we prefer the BCV.

I have stayed in 3 different rooms at the BCV and never had a problem with the themostat. The motion/heat sensor causes the heat or air to turn off when it does not detect anyone in the room. The room was a bit stuffy when we first enter it after a long period away, but within 3-5 minutes it is back down to normal temp. You hear it kick on as soon as you walk in the room.

BCV is our absolute favorite resort. BWV is within 5 minute walking distance and both are great resorts simply because of their location, I don't think you can go wrong either way. We just feel that BCV is a bit quieter and more peaceful with the beach than the BWV.

I think the decision between the two resorts is a fairly big one if contemplating a purchase for the next 40 years. But for a single stay, I don't think you'll go wrong with either resort, they both have thier advantages and disadvantages, and thier own charm. You won't go wrong with either one, pick one and enjoy your nice vacation.

BWV is my favorite (and our "home" resort) and BCV is my DH's favorite. You really can't go wrong with either...of course, **I** think that you made the right choice by going back to the BWV, LOL:p Also, I might be the exception to the rule, but we had a view of the "Luna Park" pool when we stayed at the BWV, and I LOVED it:D
