In a trail of logic that is making less and less sense to me now that I'm looking back, I decided to book my Tier 1 FP for Soarin instad of FEA on my Epcot day, Dec 3. I have an 8am Akershus PPO ADR that day so I thought it'd work well to just jump into the standby line as soon as we're done. The more I think about it the more I'm sure I'll be waiting in line for 50 minutes.

I'm planning on getting to Epcot by 7:30am, max 7:40ish but this is my first PPO so I'm not entirely sure how timing work with PPO ADRs.

Anyone who has tried the PPO Akershus then FEA standby routine recently, please tell me it isn't as bad as I'm imagining.

I don't think it can possibly be as bad as you are imagining, if you are in line before the park opens. I don't think Akershus can hold enough people to cause a 50 min wait.

We tried to do FEA after a PPO Akershus on Sept 3 and failed miserably. We were through the gates at 7:45 but the last princess at Akershus didn't make it to our table until 9:30. We had been done eating for at least 45 minutes. If you are willing to rush and miss a princess or two, it's doable, but FEA wasn't our priority. The wait time when we left the restaurant was listed as an hour, but the good news is that it's way overstated. We only ended up waiting 25 minutes.
