Please tell me about your marrekesh experiences?

This is the only place my husbands has requested. I have to say that it doesn't interest me, but i feel like i should throw him a bone since it's the only thing he said he'd like to try.

DH and I loved it.The food was great and so was the service, But it is not very spicy like traditional Morroccan. The bellydancer was great too

I personally think that this restaurant gets a bad rap! We have eaten there on our last 2 trips 4/07 & 4/08 both of which were moderately crowded times of the year and BOTH times we had outstanding service and loved the food. I am a plain and simple girl no sauces or fancy stuff with my food and I loved the chicken kabobs I also feel that the atmosphere is truly authentic The decor is gorgeous and it really isn't very crowded, we were able to eat at a leisurely pace. Our waiter spent time with our kids and took the time to write their names in Arabic on the table...which the kids loved and not something you see in most restaurants! I would give it a try!

I ate there this March for the first time, my 11 yo niece and I shared the seafood platter and it was very good. She has decided it is one of her favorite places to eat. We will definitely be going back.

I am going to be the opposite of everyone else here. Marrakesh (however it's spelled) was the WORST meal i have ever had at Disney. In fact maybe anywhere. Food was bland & cold, my dd had spaghetti and i swear it was ketchup on pasta noodles. I was very excited to try it and was really let down. I usually believe in giving second chances but not for there.

We only tried it once. The food (kebobs and couscous) was bland and overpriced for what it was; we had expected much spicier fare. The restaurant was really loud, too loud for our young kids (at the time 5 and 3). I'm glad others have had good experiences (and we love Tangierine, the counter service place in Morocco, I think one of the best in Epcot). But we have not been tempted back to Marrakesh.

We've tried it twice and both times it was okay. Not bad, just okay. The food was tasty, service adequate and all in all it was pricey. Our server was more concerned with interacting with the other servers than with us on both trips.

We tried lunch in 2007 and thought it was better than dinner in January 2009. The entertainment is pretty good - the sitar players and belly dancing - but you can see that on the Promenade in World Showcase.

It will be a while before we try it again. Not our favorite dining experience.

We had a horrible experience there. I ordered the lamb and it was awful. I took one bite and couldn't eat the rest. The waiter noticed I didn't eat anything but did nothing. In fact at the end of the meal he brought us two cups of green mint tea. I thought he was trying to make up for the fact that I didn't eat my meal. He put the tea on our table and left without saying a world. A couple minutes later another waiter came over to our table and asked us if we had ordered the tea. I told him we hadn't. My husband had already drank part of his. The waiter said the other waiter misdelivered the tea. It belonged to the table next to ours. He grabbed the tea and walked away. It didn't look like he gave the tea to them, so I am hoping he got them each a fresh cup, but it was obvious my husband had drank part of his. What was the purpose of taking it away? They just had to throw it away. Come on, a cup of tea costs them like $0.10. I was getting really mad at this point, so we left without dessert. Good thing we had free dining. I would have been really mad if I had paid $100 for that meal. It was disgusting and the service was rude.

Eaten here twice and both times got the sampler appetizer and ate it as my meal which allowed me to try several different offerings in smaller portions. I laughed when the couple next to use sat and lingered and lingered over after dinner drinks (I presumed waiting on the dancer) then about 1 min. before she came out they got up and left. I wanted to yell "don't you know there's entertainment coming" but alas I didn't bother. What can you do for the uninformed non-planner? I wonder how much I've missed moments before something special has occurred?

I have eaten there twice and both times really enjoyed it.

First time was with just DH as our adult dinner out. We both had one of the "feasts" which allowed us to sample many things. Loved the Haira (SP?) soup! Our waiter was very helpful and suggested a lovely morrocan wine to compliment our meal. We sat on the first level up, on the rail.

Last trip we took our children who were 10 and 13 at the time. We were seated right by the dance floor. We ordered an appetizer sampler which was fun for the kids to try different spiced things. They had chicken or steak kebobs which were very good. It was a fun time, they enjoyed the bellydancer who is very family friendly.

If you DH really wants to go you should try to go with an open mind, you might end up enjoying your evening. I think that pavillion is really pretty at night. My kids met up with Aladdin in the market place area for a photo op.
