We just booked this restaurant for dinner because it was inexpensive and the food was casual. We are interested in sandwiches for this night, but do not want to deal with the holiday crowds at the CS places. :scared1:

How is the food? Is it decent quality? Are the deli meats good?

Thanks!

My family really enjoys the Plaza. It gets review of nasty servers but ours have been fine. It is a little slow sometimes on service, but I think people think "sandwich", faster service. The german potato salad is COLD, just a pre-warning if you are used to it being warm like we are. One of the best fries we have had, but we do dab some of the salt off.

GREAT, GREAT ice cream if you are on the dining plan. We go before MNSSHP every time we do the party. I get the 4:05pm ADR, and the ticket lets us in at 4pm. It works out really great and as you stated even if you pay OOP it is almost the same amount as a CS but so much more.

Enjoy!

We ate there only once. Our impression was that it was fine. Not great, but not bad either.

They have the best french fries in all of WDW! I love the reuben and DH had a huge cheesesteak

We really enjoyed our meal (and desserts) there. For a sandwich and ice cream spot, we thought it was perfect. Plus, we had a lovely view of the castle from our air conditioned table. I don't remember thinking the service was slow, but I was enjoying myself so much sitting in the cool air looking at the castle that I don't think I was in any rush to leave. ;)

Another thumbs up for The Plaza. Great sandwiches, fries & dessert!

We love it! We eat there over and over and the food has always been very good. And the dessert :)

We LOVE the Plaza! Had a great meal there in Feb. Chef Constance and our server were awesome! Definitely special order the double fried fries! They did such a wonderful job - made a huge deal out of DS (10 months at the time) and brought him a little plate of fruit to "tide him over" so the rest of us could relax a sec. DD loved her cookies and milk dessert. A great break in the middle of MK.

My kids are still raving about the tomato soup...they want to know when they can have it again...and no soup will ever be that good again

Out of all the places we ate on our trip, surprisingly this quaint little sandwich shop was one of our favorites!! :) The sandwiches were so big and delicious..the deli meat and all of the toppings were very fresh. The fries were wonderful and the service was great! It was a great place to cool off and enjoy a sit down meal. The kids really enjoyed their meals as well. We will definitely eat there again!!

Awesome turkey club:thumbsup2. I mentioned it was my son's birthday (23rd) and our 25 th anniversary and they ended up bringing out a whole cake!! We were pretty surprised:). Will definitely go back here.

I really like The Plaza. We usually end up eating here a few days into our trip when we're looking for some "normal" food.

The Plaza is our OOP secret for a nice inexpensive meal.

We love...
DS teen = Angus Chuck Cheese Burger
DH = Plaza Club
DW = Turkey Sandwich without the Mayo
DD tween = off kids menu... Grilled Chicken Sticks

We like the Plaza too. Not a must-do kind of place; rather its just a nice place to eat.

We ate there last week, service was extremely slow! Food was ok, desserts were yummy! Brownie sundae!! But was nice and cool to take a break from the heat of the day!

I like you was very skeptical of The Plaza. My friend and I tried it for lunch and it is now one of our go to places. Simple, pretty inexpensive, waitstaff is a hit or miss. 1st time we saw our waitress a total of 2 time, once to take the order and once to drop off the food and bill. Second time our waitress was so attentive. Here are some pictures from the two trips. Both times the food has been amazing.

The Ruben no sauerkraut

Veggie Sandwich
I loved it! It was so good I forgot it was all veggies!

Last trip we both ordered the burger. It was really big but very delicious

As you see on both trips we both got fries and the house made chips. Both are very good!

So to answer your three questions IMO
Yes, the food is very good, nothing fancy.
The quality is also very good
The deli meat according to my friend was thin and melted in your mouth with the Ruben, best she's had on property.

Hope this all helped.

We found this to be a hidden gem in MK:thumbsup2very convenient location; great sandwiches, salads, and ice cream concoctions. If you combine it with a must see event, such as WISHES or the parades, you'll have a great location to view them.

We loved it! Food was great, dessert was even better! Our waitress was busy busy busy but she never forgot us. Only thought it was weird we had to go out the building next door to use the washroom...?...

we just ate there the other day. The fries are awesome !! Crispy and not overly greasy.
DS had tomato soup, yummy !! I should have ordered a bowl too, but the heat index of 105 didn't make soup all that appealing.
Reuben was good, nothing fancy, just a nice sandwich, tasty.
I'd go back again.
