I did a search but came up with very little :confused3 . Anyone been there recently? We love tempura and thought it might be fun. Was the food good? Do I need PS? Any info at all would be helpful! Thanks! :flower3:

We have been there several times and the tempura was very good and fresh. You sit around a counter similar to a sushi bar, no tables. The last time we were there, I didn't think they accepted reservations. I believe they also had sushi too, however the tempura servings were ample for us. They had several different variations that you could order.

Does anyone know if you can order sushi by the roll and if so how $$$?

We have been there many times. It's one of our fav spots to eat before Illuminations. We usually get numerous appetizer orders of shrimp and chicken tempura and eat away, along wtih several kirin light's. The last time we went in August we actually wanted to eat in the main restaurant, but there was no availability, so we waited a few minutes and got a table in Tempura Kiku.

If you get a table by the window you can actually watch Illuminations while you eat. But we enjoy eating first and then walking out onto the balcony around the restaurant to watch Illuminations.

Does anyone know if they accept Dining Plan? From the menu on allearsnet I can't tell which are Appetizers which ones are Entrees. i.e. : Does "Sushi and Tempura Dinner"
count as a complete dinner?

It has been a couple of years since we ate here, but I've enjoyed it every time I've tried it, both for lunch and supper. As far as ADR (PS), I have made them before, but sometimes was told that the restaurant doesn't accept them. A good thing to do is to show up a little before opening and get your name on the list for the first seating at lunch. The restaurant is very small. You can watch the chefs prepare sushi for the upcoming lunch crowd for the lounge and it is interesting. The food is good and portions ample, however, it is fried so it can be heavy, especially if you are going out into very hot weather. I looked at the menu and the prices are in line with what we paid on our last visit. I have tried the Ume and Kiku and both were excellent.

so, since everyone sit around the counter at Tempura Kiku, does it consider a counter service or table service meal?? :rotfl:

We went here on our last trip to try something different. We enjoyed it. We did not sit around a counter :confused3 but at a table in a room that faced onto the lagoon.

yummm... so which resturant in Japan WS is best for dinner? Tempura Kiku or Teppanyaki?

Tempura Kiku only has tempura food and sushi.

Teppanyaki is like a Benihana style restaurant.

I think it depends on what you like. Teppanyaki is probably more of a dinner restaurant. Tempura Kiku is like a fried tempura heaven type snack place.

You were in the Matsunoma Lounge which is located right next to Tempura Kiku. (and Tempura Kiku is sandwiched between Teppanyaki and Matsunoma Lounge) :teeth:

You have SUCH a cute daughter!

Can you sit in the lounge and have dinner instead of sitting at the counter? If so do you have to make a ressie for it or is it walk in? TIA

Oh. I didn't know. We went up to the greeter person and said we wanted to eat at the tempura place, and that is where they sat us. We ordered off of the Tempura Kiku menu.

Which one is the cute one? ;) Thanks for the compliment. I think they take after their dad.

I think they are both cute :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Here is another picture from Tempura Kiku. The girls are holding little origami frogs that the waitress made for them.

Hey everyone, I still want to know how the dining plan work at Tampura Kiku, do you get an appetizer (eg. Sashimi) , an entree (eg. Matsu) and dessert or just one box set dinner (just a Matsu) (like in those fancy Japanese resturants)?

Sorry I can't help you. We went pre-dining plan. But hopefully this will bump the thread back up for you. :Pinkbounc
