I was hoping too but guess it will be next Thursday...
BTW, we're neighbors...I'm in the same 'boat' so to speak looking for 4/7 - 4/15 for a cruise!
Have noticed that just before SW opens up, AA will probably have a sale for the period SW is about to open. So watch for that Tuesday when AA usually puts their sales up.
I'm waiting too! 3/24-3/31 I hung by the computer all morning waiting for the release. LOL Then went Christmas shopping instead. I've never flown SW before...got ding all downloaded...will that be the first place the release is announced?
I know for sure that on Oct. 27, 2005, I booked SW tickets for March 10 & 18, 2006, but I don't know how far up they opened it at that time. So, they're definitely opening it up later than last year. I also know they did open it up on a Friday morning once, so I'll check again tomorrow morning. But, I'm afraid it will be next Thursday, and we'll be at the airport and unable to check on-line internet prices. I only need to purchase one ticket and have free awards to use for the others, but I'm still hoping for a discounted price for that one!

SWA is the best airline for kids. As you can see, we travel to Disney World often. We just purchased into DVC this year. All but one of the years we went on SWA. Even with all of my miles on other airlines, I choose to fly SWA. Even if it costs me a little bit of money.
I travel every week, and fly all of the different airlines. The one that stands out as the best is SWA. People that fly SWA expect familes to be on board and are much more tolerant of screaming children. On other airlines, I have watched other business people complain about the children. I guess the feeling is that they are paying a premium to avoid the children. I on the other hand understand that children do not like to be penned up on an aircraft for too long. As well as they cannot clear their ears like an adult can.
My DW was able to get 479 for all 5 us for our return flight from Disney in December.
keep watching ~ they sometimes release more dates on Tuesday or Wednesday, not just on Thursdays. I thought it was going to be yesterday. Hopefully next week for you guys waiting.
Well...its' 4 p.m. CST...nothing on SWA....maybe tomorrow!?! Thanks to all (especially Hightown) for the tips. I'll PM people if I see anything....please do the same for me?
Well, at least you have the cruise planned! I'm waiting to see what kind of airfare I can get that will help me decide where to go. Our spring break is the first week of April, so I'm really looking for a flight somewhere/anywhere on 3/31, returning 4/8. Come on Southwest...I'm counting on you to give my family the best vacation ever!!!
I am walking around with a folder full of reservation #'s for ticketless travel funds I need to use to book for 4 people in April !!! It's glued to my side practically just waiting to be emptied!!! The stress of waiting is unbearable...
Is there any way of gauging what the prices might be when they do extend the schedule? Do we automatically assume that the end of March will be higher than the beginning, or can I take a look at what flight are going for then to make a budget? (Just thought I'd throw a new question into the mix to keep us busy while we wait.)

From what I've seen, early March has been higher than usual. My usual $99 one-way to Orlando has been about $159. I've booked our flight there, and am waiting on the return. I ended up using some award tickets that I was hoping to be able to save for next Summer, but the Spring Break prices were so high I had to go ahead and use them. I think looking at early March would give you a good idea of what prices will be at the end of March and into April, but they are higher than usual!
living in northeast texas, i am glad that they have repealed the wright amendment. right now there are $158 RT through march out of dallas. i am hoping that they will extend that through may.
