I love it, but I really wanna know....

DO native spanish speakers really love to hear "Please stand clear of the doors!" as much as we love the spanish version???

Well as someone who is bi-lingual I can tell you that I get a kick out of the Spanish section more than the English. Although I think it is because of the American accent given to the Spanish. Makes me smile for some reason. My DW has the same reaction.

My mom, who IS a native Spanish speaker, never seems to react one way or another to either version and she has been to Disney many times. Just found out my parents are moving very close to Disney, so she is bound to hear it many more times now!

Wow, so sorry. Sitting here with my dachshund it makes me sad to think of losing her. Glad that the music from Disney can make you feel better in this tragic time though. It's wonderful that you had your doxie for 17 years though....I'm sure they were wonderful years.

Its beem 3 years this week when we lost ours, he was 16. But we have 2 to replace him now, and they are a riot! Oh, and I am so glad/sad I found this thread, but I will be broke buying about 4 t-shirts before my August trip!

Surely I'm not the only one who can't pronounce the Spanish part...I'm Canadian...English and French yes...Spanish no.

Can someone spell it, breaking it down phonetically into syllables? I'm sure you'd be helping plenty of us!!!

The important thing to remember is the difference in the vowels.

English: ay ee i oh you
Spanish: ah eh ee oh ooh

A phonetic spelling of the phrase could look like this:

Poor fahvor, mahn-ten-gahn-seh ah-leh-ahdo deh lahs pwear-tahs

Just make the ah and eh sounds in the the places I indicated above. Hope that is clear enough.

Oh, I forgot to add the translation in English is more like "Please keep yourself away from the doors." Babelfish will give you the literal meanings of each individual word. This kinda works to give you the gist of a phrase.

What impress me most is the perfect spanish of the man and that both versions have the same tone.
That is what makes Disney so special

Yeah, I would say the accent is very minor. He doesn't quite roll the r, but I am being very picky. Still makes me smile.

I am the one who just lost her dachsie at 17 and I'm already putting out feelers for a new dachsie but, oy!, the puppy mills out there. Just by googling the name of a "breeder" I am finding animal cruelty charges attached to many of them. On a more positive note, I think I would like to get two this time - more than twice the fun!

To keep this on-topic, sort of, I am tossing around Disneyish names for this as-yet-to-be-located pup! "Walt" would be cute for a dachsie-dog!
