We are having hellacious weather. DS's soccer clinic was cancelled at 6:40 for lightning--started raining about 7:15--with a few exceptions it hasn't stopped. I was outside at 9:15ish videotaping and one neighbor said her rain gauge already said 4 1/2 inches of rain!
Our basement is OK, our sump is working very hard and we have a city water backup if we lose power. But when it stopped that first time, DH took the kids to the other side of town to help my BIL and MIL--they live about 20 minutes away in West Toledo and both are getting water in the basement--BIL's basement is finished and he is freaking out. Now that they are over there, there are more storms comimg and/or in progress. I know he wants to help his family, but now I'm away from my kids and I hate this kind of thing--I only stayed to make sure our sump didn't crap out. I'd almost rather be with them and at least know what is going on. They live in an older neighborhood with late 40s postwar houses and bad drainage--I have nightmares about driving in water and don't want to think about them driving through it.
So if you're still with me--please say a quick one that Bill and the kids are safe and that everything turns out OK with these storms.
BTW If you like big radar returns, check out the Toledo OH radar!
