I believe from all that I've read in my research I'm going to request cabana 8, 9, or 5 on our first DCL vacation next Summer....

However I'd love to see your photos and get opinions on the best cabana on the family beach! (Would especially love to see photos of the above listed 3 options)

Thanks in advance!

After our experience, I would say any cabana up to 9 would be a good choice (Or any available- you don't always get to choose- we didn't). 9 is far enough away from the crowds but an easy walk over to the snorkeling lagoon (where we spent most of our day- it probably wasn't worth getting a cabana because the island was just too nice to spend sitting around lol!) I loved having a landing spot and a safe place to leave my expensive camera gear, but next time we will probably leave valuables on the ship and just enjoy the island. It was a fun filled day and we felt guilty about how little time we spent at the cabana. BUT I will say, if you do plan to spend time at the cabana, it is a little slice of paradise, and worth it!

We were in 15 last year and it was just too far so we've requested (and received) 5 for our March 2017 cruise. Following this thread with interest.

Thanks Princessmommyx3 for sharing the link to your blog!

We asked our concierge host to snap this pic of us on the beach in front of our cabana.

Thank you so much for your photos and advice! We feel we need a cabana as we are not exactly beach people and we fry very easily, we wanted a place to escape to! How did you feel the privacy was in #9?

Thank you for the link, great photos, and information! I'd love to know which cabana you preferred of the two and why? It looks like #5 has a lot of vegetation for privacy?

I would have to say that we liked them equally - I really don't remember one having an advantage over the other. The vegetation and privacy seemed about the same between the 2. I think you will love either one!

Cabana 4 (not #5 but very close)

Loved this Cabana!

(that's my DH floating out there)

Thank you poison ivy!!! Those lower number ones definitely have better surroundings as far as the plants go! I love the view.

Cabana 9

this was our first cabana. (back in summer 2011 when you could still bring a rolling cooler onboard)
We were thrilled to get it. Very convenient too.

Cabana #9 is our favorite. We got this one on our last two cruises. We're going to try out Serenity Bay for our christmas cruise to compare the two beaches.

Privacy- we saw virtually no one else. I'd say it was pretty private. There were occasionally others on the beach, but in the afternoon we had the whole family cabana beach to ourselves because there was a storm rolling in. We watched it roll in, there were tons of people still on the family beach, but NO ONE else on the family cabana beach but us. It never did rain, just looked a bit ominous for a while. We eventually just went back to the ship because we were afraid we might get caught in it and the rush of folks trying to get back.
