Please recommend a good "spray" to use on your hair for curls.

For years I used Garnier Fructis "Wonder Waves" spray on my hair once I got out of the shower. It's been discontinued :(

If you use to use it, have you found a good alternative? I have not and it's driving me insane.

I've tried spray "gels" and I hate them. I've tried other curl sprays and they don't work to keep my hair the way I want it. I hate mousse.

Any recommendations? I have a natural wave to my hair (not really curly)

I love herbal essence totally twisted
Mousse. It’s my go to and works great. It’s a 10 curly is a spray that also works well for softer curls but it’s pricy for everyday. The mousse can be a slight bit “crunchy” when it dries on wet hair but I find if I just bend down my head a couple times to shake it out ala rocking out to music style it fluffs it up and looks amazing on my waves.

I loved Wonder Waves, too!!! It's the third product I used on my fine wavy hair that worked great but then they stopped making it.

I'm using Herbal Essences Tousling Spray Gel right now, it's OK but I sure miss Wonder Waves!

I use Paul Mitchell Flexible Style Sculpting Foam. It's the only thing I've found that defines my curls yet keeps them soft.

Have you tried John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls?

I have tried what feels like hundreds of curly products over the years, and currently love LUS brand but they don’t have a spray. Ouidad is another line of products that I enjoy, but neither brand line is cheap.

The ColorWow Dream Coat for curly Hair. I also like a little non-aresol hair spray after my hair is dry to control the frizz. Joico has an air dry cream that I like.

My girls both used Wonder Waves and we cannot find a good replacement either!!! That stuff was perfect for loose curls/wavy hair! It was also inexpensive and smelled good!

I have lost track of all the products they have tried. I just checked their bathroom and they currently have Tresemme one step wave, Aussie miracle curls 2nd day curl activator, Pantene Natural Waves texturizing salt hairspray and Paul Mitchel flexible style sculpting foam sitting in their bathroom (they are both at college … but I think, except for the Paul Mitchell, they are all duds since nobody asked for duplicates to take to college). The Paul Mitchel foam is ok, but I think it’s almost too much hold … but that’s what they both settled on in the absence of Wonder Waves. I just bought Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe soft wave sea salt spray for them to try.

I have truly curly hair and Wonder Waves was not enough hold for me, but it’s perfect for looser more wavy type hair. The things that work well on my hair (Deva curl defining gel, Ouidad weather up gel) are too much hold for my girls - they weigh down their hair and just make it look kind of greasy and crunchy. They need a little something to get definition and manage frizz, but don’t need the heavier stuff required to wrangle tight curls.

Edited to add: I know I’ve been no help, just wanted to commiserate!

I water down garnier pure clean gel--a nickle size of gel, a palmful of water, then blend together and scrunch/clap into my hair. After it's all the way dry, I flip upside down and "scrunch out the crunch" with a pump of garnier marvelous oil. If I want extra fluffiness I use herbal essence totally twisted mousse before the gel. The best refresh for my fine, wavy hair is watered down kiwi lime vo5 conditioner.

So many amazing products have vanished lately and have spent a fortune in search of a new everyday. So far nothing so I stick with Devacurl Arc Angel gel & also Bumble and Bumble Hair Cream, to get it the right consistency I thin it with water in my hands before raking it through my hair. They are expensive but last a very long time.
