Please reassure me worried about DS.

He is going skiiing with Dh in next weekend but Dh is flying out from a different part of the country due to work. Ds is flying out alone from a different airport. He is 14. I will be taking him to the airport and will see him through to passport control. Dh will arrive at the destination an hour before DS so will be there to meet him.
But I literally can't sleep worrying about possible senarios, has anyone done this? Is there such a thing as a chaperone at the airport for minors?
Iam also worried that dh might get delayed on his plane and ds will arrive with no dh to meet him.

can't offer any advice, but you seem to have covered all your bases and im sure your ds will be fine

Don't have any experience myself but could you maybe ask the airline to treat him as an unaccompanied minor.

You might find something useful here. It's a bit out of date but it is a start.

Whatever happens I'm sure everything will be fine. You must think he is sensible enough to travel alone.

I flew once when I was 7 or 8 by myself. It's a little while ago now lmao: ) but I remember a member of staff collecting me from the desk and making sure I found my seat and someone the other end making sure I found my parents.

I'd give the airline a quick call if I was you

Thanks everyone.. ...I will call the airline and check out what they say. It seems almost silly to be worried about my 6 foot son... ..But although he looks older he is still only 14. Iam worried he'll get on the wrong plane or something ..Someone at the airport to show him to his gate would be great.
Also after talking to Dh I discovered his friend going skiing with them actually arrives a couple of days earlier and will be at the airport to pick them up.
This reassures me that even if Dh is delayed someone will be there to pick up Ds.
