I somehow thought the higher charges for holidays was starting in 2008. I am reading some things on this board that lead me to believe that if I book this year for Dec.15-22----then on the 20th my rates will go up to Holiday rates. Is that true? Is that starting this year? All these changes are really irritating me...

I have read many posts to that effect in the last couple days as people are trying to book the new discount codes. My GUESS is that when they upgraded the system, it is picking up at least Christmas week as a holiday period under the new system, since many people who check in for that week won't be checking out until after January 1st. It's not really fair, but for anyone who doesn't already have reservations for that week, it's possible that the new policy could be applied to their reservation. Reservation policies are subject to change at any time.

If I were calling for a 2007 reservation and they were quoting me higher rates for some days than others, I would at least ask them if they are following the 2007 policy or the 2008 policy. They may need to manually override something to get it to come out the old way.

It's certinally seems that way with the AP codes released today. We are being quoted one rate for 12/17-12/19 then another rate for 12/20-12/23, then holiday rate for the remainder of our stay.

However I have just been messing around with rates online and if I was booking a non discounted room I get the same rate all the way through (value).

I really don't know whats going on.
