Received this a bit ago from Amy Duffau-Leonard (Plutes on the boards):

Hi all...I'm writing to all of you today because I need your help. PLEASE, I need all the support and prayer you can muster.

My sister-in-law, Stacy, been fighting Leukemia since March of this year, and things have reached a critical stage. She received a cord blood transplant and things looked good - she was 90% 'cured', when she suddenly took a turn for the worse. She's been in a coma and cannot be revived. Thus far, she's had kidney failure, lung failure, liver failure, and multiple infections. Her heart has stopped twice so fat, including once while my brother grasped her, screaming at her to please not go. Doctors had to pull him off of her. This morning, her white cell count dropped dramatically,when that had been ons of her few stable stats previously. Currently, half of the medical team think she's already lost, but the other half thinks there's still hope. If things don't make a turn for the positive soon, however, my brother will be faced with the hardest choice NONE of us would ever want to face.

They have two children, twins, who are six years old, and very, very scared. They need their mother. And, my brother needs his wife. So, I am asking - no, PLEADING - with you all to say a prayer for Stacy's miracle. Pass this email on to EVERYONE you know...PLEASE. I know I may have inadvertently left some names off this email - please pick up my slack. Send this to strangers, family, co-workers, EVERYONE you know, and even don't know. I'm begging you - we need a miracle, and I believe in my heart of hearts that we can get one. Please don't disregard this - I'm speaking as much from the heart as I possibly can. Stacy, Rick, Matthew and Alexandra ALL need you. Let's make a miracle happen guys - I believe it's a possibility.

I am asking that God see fit to heal your SIL. I am not sure if he will choose to heal her on earth or in heaven. If it is his will to heal her in heaven, I also pray that your Brother and his children along with the rest of your family will find the strength needed to heal. My best (uncle/friend) died 2 weeks ago from Lung cancer and God decided to heal him in heaven. I miss him, but the memories we have will never fade. May God bless and keep you and your family during this time and may your hearts grow stronger each day. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family

Sadly, the latest news is not good. She's suffered kidney failure again, and the doctors have told my brother that it's time. They are having a meeting at 1 o'clock. Still praying, but so sad.

Sadly, Stacy passed away last night.

Will keep praying for the family. I can't imagine losing someone so close to Christmas.
