We know all about Disney World, how about Disneyland? I bet this would really help everyone deciding whether or not to try concierge in California...... Does anyone have anything to contribute?
bump, please. I'd love to hear anything anyone has to say about concierge at DL, specifically at the Disneyland Hotel. We'll be going in July 2005 and with three kids we know we'll be taking lots of breaks back at the hotel.
We've stayed at Concierge at the Disneyland Hotel several times, and really enjoy it. Of course, we've usually managed to get it at a reduced rate. If it's only going to cost $40 or $50 more a night, and you're a family of 3 or more, I think it's definitely worth it.
First off, your room is in Sierra Tower, closest to the parks, and you get queen size beds rather than fulls. Next, you get continental breakfast in the morning, water or sodas to take to the park with you, wine, cheese, crackers, and other munchies at dinner time, and cookies and drinks in the evening. If you take advantage of most of the food and drink available in concierge, it's worth the extra money. We usually eat a big lunch in the parks, and go to the Concierge Lounge for the rest of our meals.
I just stayed at DL concierge a few weeks ago in a 1 br unit. We are a family of 6 and had a wonderful stay. Our room was above the main lobby. Check in was quick and friendly (bought our season passes there too) The room was very very large and themed with old DL pics and a cute neverland enterainment unit and a mp/dvd player in the living room . It was well maintained and the service was excellent. You get to view the fireworks from the concierge lounge with music piped in which is a plus for me because my kids don't like the loud fireworks sounds). The only thing I don't like about staying at the DL hotel is that you can open the sliding door (no balcony but there is railing). I always worry about my kids even though there is a sturdy safety lock out of their reach. We did not partake in the continental bfast but did the character bfast instead. Just a very very short walk from the elevator. Saw more characters there than I did at the WDW character dinner I went to. I have never stayed concierge at WDW so I have nothing to compare the DL hotel concierge to. I'd stay concierge again for sure! Worth the extra few dollars in my opinion.
Are you able to specify what time you want to have your room cleaned? I'm thinking that if we come back to the room for a rest, I don't want to be bothered with a cleaning person.
ARe you saying that there were characters visiting the concierge lounge?
Do any of the Disneyland hotel rooms have an actual balcony?
Do any of the concierge rooms have king beds instead of two queens?
