Hi All,

Well I posted a few weeks ago with regards to travel in Paris/Disney...I was undecided as to whether we should hire a car and drive from CDG to Paris (spending the first few hours in Paris) and then drive on to Disney.

Well I decided to go with general opinion and use public transport BUT we travel tomorrow and I haven't booked anything!!!

I just found it all so confusing that i just kept putting it off (so stupid), now I'm panicking that I won't be able to do it?

I thought a private shuttle from CDG to Paris?

Then I was going to get the RER A to Disney but when I'm trying to book it's saying no trains available! Can I just turn up at the station and book (it will be approx 7pm) or will I have to get a taxi...and how much would that cost?

I'm going to book the TGV from Disney to CDG for the return journey costing £72 so that journey is pretty much sorted.

I'm so worried, please help me.

Thanks for any and all advice : ) Xx

You cant book the RER which is why its saying no trains available.
The RER is like an extension of the metro system but goes further out into the suburbs.
So just turn up at the station buy a ticket and get a train into central Paris. It will take about 30-40 mins.
Are you staying in Paris or just spending a few hours there looking round? Let us know where you want to get to in Paris and I'll let you know the best station to get off at if you can work it out.

If going onto DLP you will need to change lines in Paris. Ive just replied to someone else about getting to DLP from the airport so have a look at my posts from this morning and you'll find all the options.

How many of you are there? How much luggage?

Sorry Ive just re read you post

If you want the RER from Paris to DLP its the same - just turn up at the station (either Auber/Charles de Gualle Etoile/Chatelet des halles) and get a train to Marne la Vallee Chessy. Remember to check the lights above the platform to make sure the train is going to that station.
Again it will take about 30-40 mins

RER basically works like a subway, except it doesn't run underground
there is no need for a reservation

you'll find tickets vending machines at the station. You'll be prompted to enter your destination station, number of tickets needed. Payment is made by credit card.
You may also find open booths if you prefer direct contact with a human being :)
RER A will require you to take RER B at CDG and change at Chatelet les Halles to your final destination which is Chessy Marne la Vallée
The fare is around 7.10 euros (per person, one way)

Be advised that RER is a mass transportation system and might be very crowded (think about the tube at rush hour and you'll get the picture)

VEA's last shuttle should depart at 8:25PM So it might still be an option (18 euros per passenger)

Oh my goodness, thanks so much...huge relief!

We want to just spend a few hours at the Louvre so do we just use the metro station nearest to that?

We're 2 adults, 2 children and a baby with a buggy and hand luggage so dreading this part of the journey but I can just about cope for the duration (I think!)

With regards to the VEA shuttle, does this run from Paris then as well as the airport (sorry, completely clueless...Not sure where I'd be without forums like this!)

THANKYOU SO MUCH : )

No I think the VEA is only from CDG. You can use the metro station closest to the Louvre but will have to change onto the RER line. Let me check the map and I'll get back to you

From the Louvre get metro line 1 to either Charles de Gualle Etoile or to Chatelet and then change onto RER line A. The stations are in opposite directions but both connect with line A. Charles de Gualle Etoile might be easier as its a smaller station (If I remember correctly Chatelet is huge). There are a few stations near the Louvre on this line (Louvre Rivoli, Palais Royale, Tuileries)

You can get the ticket to Marne la Vallee from where you get on -you dont need seperate tickets for each section as long as you dont exit the station. Remember to keep hold of your tickets as you need them to exit at the end as well. Depending on how old your children are they may need tickets as well - I think under 4s travel free but cant remember the exact age

Under 4's are free, over 4's but under 10's pay half price of the adult fare
