This dining plan thing is TOO confusing for me - with all the different restaurants and ways to use your credits.

So...scenario is: Me and DH and 15 month old DS (he doesn't have credits, does he?). Going from 9/28 - 10/2. Arriving early evening on 9/28, leaving early afternoon 10/2. Make out a game plan for me. I will be printing this off and using these suggestions.

1 thing - WE WANT OHANA somewhere during the trip.

Plan away!

Well with young kids I like the buffet type restaurants because you do not have to pay for kids under 3, you can usually find several things that kids will eat and you don't have to wait very long for your food which is important when you have a hungry little one. It also helps if there is some type of entertainment for the kids to keep them occupied while you enjoy your meal.

'Ohana would be a good choice as would one of the character meal buffets. Chef Mickeys might be a little too loud and overwhelming but perhaps a character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare or the Beach Club's Cape May Cafe would be a good choice.

what parks are you planning on going to? planning all depends on if you will be in the parks, and or park hopping. you cant eat at MK if you are going to be in epcot that day :)

if you are looking kid friendly i would suggest crystal palace in the MK. with the free dining you get more bang for your buck at dinner time. we had lunch there and really liked it. we have planned a lot of character meals as we will be traveling during free dining with my 2yo, i agree buffets will be more speedy and kid friendly (not the most extravagent use of credits but we are thrilled)

liberty tree tavern is characters and i have yet to read anything bad about it, also in the MK

we booked chef mickeys as well, we havent been there yet. it seems that the most convienient choices, aside from the parks themself, are ones on the resort monorail. contemporary = chef mickeys, and concourse steakhouse, polynesian = ohana (also one we chose) and grand floridian = 1900 park fare (which we are trying for breakfast). we also chose the AKL boma buffet one of the days we planned at being at animal kingdom, figuring it will be a close hop over there and lots for the little guy to see while we are waiting for our table

you are staying for 4 nights? so 4 days dining. since you arrive late on the 28th i really wouldnt plan a sit down dinner that day. sooner use a counter service and double up your table service another day. or do a breakfast the day you are leaving

one day we are doing chef mickeys for breakfast and another ts for dinner.

just an option
are you planning on attending the halloween party?
if not beware that the MK will close early on 9/30 and 10/2 for it. so that makes it tough to book one of the MK those days for dinner

Where are you staying and what parks do you plan to visit? Will you have a car? Visiting resorts for meals is a great experience, but quite time consuming if you're using public transportation. I wouldn't do it with a toddler.

I'm sure Mk is in your plans with your little guy, so I would highly recommend Crystal Palace for the Pooh and Friends breakfast. He will LOVE that.

We are transplanted Minnesotans (Eden Prairie), but for many natives, a dinner in Norway would be a must do. My preference would be Le Cellier in Canada.

We are staying at Pop, currently, but I am going to work on DH this weekend about switching to a mod. No car.

We will be doing MGM Day 1, MK day 2 and Epcot day three.

Hi neighbor - I was just out your way last weekend - 169 to New Ulm. We are in White Bear Lake.

I think DS would LOVE the characters, so I think a park character breakfast, or at one of the monorail resorts would be FAB :O)

I still think Pooh breakfast at CP. Chef Mickey's would also be a good choice. I haven't been wowed by any restaurants at MGM. My kids like sci-fi (it may spook your little one). H&V was pretty good. You could also take the boat from there over to the EPCOT resort area, many great choices there, Flying Fish is our favorite. At EPCOT maybe coral reef, your son would really enjoy the fish.

Some cs options we like are Pecos Bills at MK, Pizza Planet at MGM, and Beaches and Cream at BC, food court at POR.
