Please pass the Prozac...............

Winkers,
I just wanted to share a funny story with you. You could use a good laugh I am sure. You mentioned that your MIL was listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I remembered this story the other night. When I was a little girl we were visiting my cousins in Baton Rouge. We were talking and my cousin asked, " We're Mormons what are you?" my brother was instantly confused but not me. I quickly answered, "We're the Dodson Dragons.":rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: The school we went to was Dodson Elementary and our school mascot was a dragon. My parents still laugh about that.

time for some not so happy news...............Last thursday we found out the D.Jay and his employer would be parting ways.............that's my nice way of saying he no longer has a job.
My first thought was there goes the trip, but he wouldn't even hear about it being cancled. For one thing we'd loose our airfare and deposit, which is quite a chunk of change. He does have a few job prospects and the option of going back to his former employer, but it's with a huge paycut.

Needless to say, I've been a little bummed. I know we'll be ok but it's kinda scary at the same time.

Oh no! Cherie I'm so sorry. I will keep you guys in my prayers. I hope he can find an even better job very soon. DH's company started layoffs last week. Makes me VERY nervous. They have never had to lay off. So far it's been people who have been there less than a year. We are pretty hopeful that DH is safe since he's got 18 years in. Very nerve wracking!

so sorry to hear about d.jay's job. i don't know if the economy has anything to do with it or not - it's so horrible out there right now! ray and i always talk about how lucky we are to have the jobs we have. there will always be court work for me (even if it's not as much as i want) and ray is the network administrator (fancy word for computer guy) for a stock market analysis firm. so they're really busy right now with the people that still have money that want to know what to do with it! anyway, i hope he finds something soon. i'm sure there's some reason he's supposed to be somewhere else that you guys just don't see yet.:flower3:

I'm so sorry.:sad2: Try not to worry when you're on your trip. Remain in your happy place and let Disney work its magic.pixiedust:
thank you!

one of the major employers in our area just started lay offs......it's not looking too good here.

thanks Dawn! When he switched to this job in September we knew it would only be temporary untill he finished school. It just ended before we thought it would. He's trying to enter a new field so it's a little scary.

Don't worry you guys will be fine. Hang in there. Try not to let it get to you, enjoy your vacation. Reset your minds. Come back fresh.

Hi Cherie... boy it has been a really rought week for you guys huh??

I know that something great is around the bend for DJay, I hope he gets around that corner quickly...so you don't need to worry!!

Enjoy your trip...relaxing is a good way to get your mind on track to come up with unexpected options when you get back home!!

Paula

Cherie so sorry about DJ's losing his job!!I am soo grateful that he ield I'm in while having to tighten our belts layoffs are very unlikely !!Each house has to have a manager and adequate staff !! They will just nit pick me to death about piddly littl things !!

3 years ago when I first started to explore the possibility of going to DisneyWorld, I found the dis and started reading trip reports. One of the first reports I read was one by Nebo. He had me laughing and crying so hard that the family would run in to check on me and make sure I was ok.
Over the past few years I've read several of his reports about the adventures of him and his wife Smidgy and I've come to think of them as friends. His reports are among my favorite all time dis trip reports, so if you haven't read them you should check them out!
Anyhoo, about a month ago I found out that they were going to DW at the same time as me! AFter a few email exchanges and a little change to my schedule, which actually works a little better for me, we are going to meet them at the Biergarten for lunch! I'm soooo excited! I've tried to contain my excitment so I don't scare them away.;)

In other news............I always wanted to be an anchorwoman........as I was cooking dinner last night, I manged to slip on a perfectly dry floor. On my way down I bounced like a rubber ball between the wall and cupboard, landing in a heap on top of the piddle pad. Thanks to my dogs fear of water and anything that moves, we have to keep a piddle pad for just in case. Of course, it was soaking wet and hadn't been changed by the child who's job it was to do so.

So, I'm now propped up in bed on a heating pad with a list of injuries.........my back, a couple ribs, 3 toes, 1 pinky finger, one bruised ear lobe, strained neck and a bruised shoulder blade. It takes an immense talent to sustain such injuries in such a mundane sort of way. I feel like I was clobbered....................I guess I now know what my mom's threat of "if you don't stop that I'll clobber you" would have felt like.

Sorry about your fall.. I hate when that happens.. because the littlest stupid fall hurts a million things.. hehe and thanks for the suggestion on reports to read. I'll check it out! :upsidedow
