I loved this show when I was little. Although I must admit that even though I have a common name, I don't think I ever heard her say it.

The birthday annoucements didn't bother me, but I did sort of wonder about people who just listen to the show and don't come to the boards. Are there alot of people like that? That just listen every week, but aren't don't read the boards? I could see where they might lose interest, not knowing anyone like we all do.

I listened to the podcast for well over a year before I even knew about the Boards.

I could go back and listen to the old shows to know for sure, but I think there is more talk about specific listeners and posters. But I could be wrong.

I may not be a frequent poster, but have been a listener for several years and last show was the first time I ever wanted to hit fast forward!

I totally agree. This was the 1st time ever listening to the podcast that I seriously thought about skipping a segment. The only thing that kept me listening was the amusing comments by Pete and the rest of the crew.

If the reading of the birthdays never happened again, I wouldn't miss them.

We try to make sure that we add new things from time to time.

If we do the same thing week in and week out...you will get bored and so will we..

I would expect to see more new things in the future.

As for there being more talk about specific posters.....well, I guess that what you are seeing is the natural progression and growing of the podcast.

We've been doing this for about 3 1/2 years now and have gotten to know a lot of really cool people. Some of the "regulars" have started participating in the podcast and blog.

As we continue to hold special events and meets, I'm hoping that I get to meet many more of our listeners. To me...that the best part.

I understand that many folks can not attend events or participate in meets. I get that. I've wanted to vist France since I was a kid and havent been able to as of yet, so I really do understand.

We do our very best to read as many emails and listen to as many voicemaiils and cover as many subjects as possible.

That being said....I'm sure we're going to touch on subjects that dont interest some of you. I apologize for that, but it doesnt mean we're going to stop doing them. I mean come on....we've covered subjects that dont interest me and I'm sitting right there.

I haven't read any of the replies yet, but wanted to say that I thought it was a cute way to connect with the fanbase and community. It'd be nice to do it the first week every month. I didn't mind it at all and thought it was a very nice gesture. Teresa made it very funny, too. Besides, who isn't excited to get mentioned on the show?

I really hate to be a downer, but I completely agree with the OP. It's not a huge deal; I fast-forward through the gift-opening stuff as well. Perhaps there can be a separate podcast focusing on fans of the podcast?

Just weighing in if Favor of continuing the "birthdays segment" it's nice to get to know a little bit more about other members of the fan community, to me the appeal of this segment is a lot like that of Facebook, small glimpses into the lives of some other like minded individuals (like minded in that they are also Disney parks fans) whom I may have met at a fan event over the years or have heard their name as an emailer to this show (or one of the other MANY Disney podcasts I listen to), or may meet in the future.

No doubt! I was just joking about the podcast fan podcast, but while I was listening to the birthday reading, I couldn't help but think about what new listeners to the show might be thinking.
