Please need an experience from someone who got sadly to be quarantine

I would like to know the experience based on what happens you were on a port adventure and that person is positive. Would they make everyone quarantine from that group?

I read about this happening on another cruise line. They tested everyone on the same port adventure as a guest who had a positive test. This is one reason we cancelled all our port adventures on our October cruise on the fantasy.

Yes I just didn’t feel that my friend who has never ever cruised before would be able to handle the tension. She wants a long cruise to be able to relax, but of course those in themselves might pose more problems.

The reason you aren't finding personal experiences here is that there are very few guests currently being quarantined on Disney ships. This is a result of the cruises being shorter and, more importantly, the embarkation day testing policy. Head over to the Celebrity, RCL, and Carnival boards on other cruising forums to read experiences of those writing from quarantined rooms. Although Disney's own protocols will be somewhat different, you can get a very good idea of what life is like on board in quarantine.

That isn't necessarily true. People wondering about what DCL quarantine is like are looking for a specific description of experiences, how they are treated & fed, what kind of cabin they are placed in, how well-informed they kept, how well-cared for they are, etc. That's a customer service issue, and will therefore differ by cruise line. We already know that quarantine means having to stay in your cabin, etc.

Does anyone know how many (if any) passengers have had to quarantine on Disney cruises over the last month? It would be good to know, because if the number is 0, or very low, a prospective cruiser could relax a little, knowing that quarantining would be highly unlikely…?

A Youth Activities CM posted on another thread that she has only seen a handful of kids quarantined as close contacts. I know that’s not exactly what you asked but maybe it helps.

I don't know the policy, but masking wouldn't be the reason for it, as kids in the clubs are also required to wear masks, but their close contacts still have to quarantine.

Yes and no. Most of this is governed by the CDC rules. Like I noted, there will be differences, but you can still have a very good idea of your overall day-to-day experience by following those in quarantine on other cruise ships.

How forthcoming the ship is with information about your quarantine is not governed by CDC rules. The quality of food, your level of choices for food, and how promptly you receive your food is not governed by CDC rules. The type of cabin you are quarantined in is not governed by CDC rules. Etc, etc. This stuff is customer service, and it is going to vary by cruise line.

None of that is unknown, and if you actually read the experiences of those currently quarantined, pretty standard across all cruise lines - that is, a mirror of how their non-quarantined vacation would have been.

None, but we have sailed and spoken to folks on board in the middle of the Omicron surge. The things you are concerned about - which deck, quality of food, customer service, etc. - are known. So, you are correct in noting that DCL will have differences; still those differences are about the same as you would expect without the quarantines.

What is really the unknown - and what worries folks the most - is what's going on behind those quarantine doors. How are the CDC guidelines being implemented? How strict are those rules? What is allowed, and what isn't? What are the medical care protocols? And the information you can glean in this regard from the other reports is invaluable. Not the same, but still invaluable.

We'll have to agree to disagree, as we're not on the same wavelength on this issue. No, the quality of food, exact stateroom type, & customer service while in quarantine on DCL is not widely known. Imo more potential cruisers are more concerned about those issues than about medical care while they're in an asymptomatic quarantine. You think differently, and that's your right. I disagree, and we're clearly never going to agree, so we might as well quit arguing here.

You may or may not be asymptomatic. You could actually be very ill. I would think medical care would be of some interest to people.

I think the only report we've had so far is a family that had to quarantine on the final night of their cruise because a child was considered a close contact of another child that tested positive. They were given an ocean view room on deck two and the staff brought them dinner from the MDR. There were guards posted outside to make sure that they didn't leave. Otherwise, I don't think we have much information about DCL's quarantine protocols.
