I'm taking my children for our 1st oct trip(shh its a surprise). Bc Of the free dining I had to cancel my POP for Music. Pop and Movies had no avail.
I heard great things about POp and Movies and I know My children would have loved the theme. I haven't heard raves about Music. I doubt I can switch bc of the free dining. MY TA keeps trying.
So... any good news.

We stayed at the ASM 2 years and really enjoyed it. We were in the jukebox section which was in the back. It made for a long walk to the food court and buses, but it was still great. After our 2nd day in we realized that it was quicker to walk thru the *** resort to catch their buses.

I liked the theming. I always go around the 1st day and take pictures of the resort.

Keep the ressie, I think you will have a great time. :goodvibes

You will love it because it is basically the same as the other All stars. Besides, if you miss movies, you can go for a stroll and a dip in their pool (this is allowed only if you have a room at the all-stars).

As for the rooms, they are all the same. Your family will love it. Why? Because you're onsite, and you're in DW! oh and you got the free dining too!

Music is my favorite of the All-Star resorts. It's the quietest and most peaceful, and has several buildings closer to the parking lot, which is a huge plus for me since I always rent a car.

Music is in between Movies and Sports, so it's not a terribly long walk across the parking lots to either one to enjoy thier scenery and pools.

I have maps of the All-Stars on my maps page:

When you see how crowded the busses are for Movies and how uncrowded they are for Music, you'll be glad you're there! We were at the Mighty Ducks section of ASMo and we used the Music busses since we were closer to that stop, and they were nearly empty compared to the Movie busses!

Stayed there twice and would not stay at any other budget resort if I went to WDW again and could not afford a mod. I love POFQ now and try to stay there each time from now on but would definitely stay at ASMu at any time if I could not swing the mod.

Last time I went, I had the same problem. I wanted AS Movies, but I had to take Music instead to get a discount deal. I was terribly disappointed at first.

But once you see the rooms, you'll realize that it's not that big of a deal. For one thing, most of the theming is on the outside, not the inside. The rooms themselves are almost identical aside from minor touches. And since Movies and Music are right next to each other, it's no trouble at all to walk over to the Movies section to enjoy some of the fun theming of their pools and buildings. That's what we did.

Incidentally, the Music section has some fun touches of its own. I think the Jazz Inn looks pretty neat after dark, for example. But again, all the major differences are on the outside, so spend your time outside whatever buildings you want, and when you're in your room it doesn't matter too much.

I hope this helps!

I have stayed at the Music twice, both times in the Broadway area toward the back...we enjoyed it. Granted, I'm used to the deluxe resorts, but I felt that the ASMusic was fun...laid back and a good time. I liked it a lot better than POP...my cousins stayed there last summer and didn't care for it much....so spread out and no good parking...

I'm sure you'll have a great time!

I have stayed at both the Movies and Music. Besides themeing I don't really remember much of a difference. I do remember when we stayed at the Movies commenting that the food court was set up a little better for flow of people. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay at both.

Have Fun

We actually prefer ASMu over POP. The All-Stars are pretty much the same with the exception of the decorations. We have stayed in the Calypso building several times and in the rock & roll section once. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

My dd and I stayed at ASMu for a last minute quickie trip...loved it. We were in Jazz bldg...close to everything. I would stay there again in a heatbeat.

We're trying ASMu in Sept. Anyone know what the smoking and non-smoking buildings are?

ASMusic is fine, obviously theming is different than POP and other than the fact that POP has it's own buses, there's not much difference in the lay-out, feel of the resort, or the rooms. Wouldn't give it another thought truthfully

According to the 2004 Passporter Building Number 1 (calypso), Building Number 3 (Rock Inn) and Building Number 9 (Jazz Inn) are the smoking buildings. Having said that I was in Rock Inn Building Number 3 in Sept 2002 and had a non-smoking room (could be that they have changed it since then as well). The Rock in location was great we found it was faster for us to walk along the path that adjoins the parking lot there and cut through up by the Calypso building. ASMU was a great resort and was my favorite out of the all-stars.

I love ASMu. My three favorite Disney resorts are The Contemporary, Coronado Springs and All Star Music. I've stayed at ASMu 3 times. I would choose Music over POP or Movies any day. I like the tropical feeling around the Calypso Guitar pool.

We stayed onsite in Dec 2002 and I changed my ASMo reservation to ASMu because there was a code I could apply to Music only.

I did ask to stay in Broadway because I thought the Beauty and the Beast theme would seem more "Disney-ish" to my 5 year old.

We had a great time and I would not mind staying there again at all.

I had the same concerns and I just returned from my first Disney trip after staying a week at ASMu. It was great! We had a non-smoking room on the third floor of the Jazz building in the arm closest to the Calypso building. It was a very easy walk to the pool and food court, but overlooked the landscaped pathway between the two pools so it was very quiet. The playground is behind this building (Jazz building closest to Movies). I agree with the other poster - the busses for ASMo were packed!! We'd pull up to their resort, even first thing in the morning, and almost all of the time there were too many people to fit on the bus. The theming was fun and it exceeded my expectations.
Hope that helps!

ermm... I know, I know...if you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all. So, uh... good luck! :bitelip:
